Franks's '11-'12 transfers to "The U"
« on: November 11, 2010, 03:37:50 PM »
Prep school placements & walk-ons can go without sitting out, right?  So the following can bail / will never play a minute at KSU:

Peterson, Lawrence, Reed, Diaz, Rodriguez.

And since Frank doesn't redshirt anyone pretty much the rest of the team can follow him down there if they want to as they all have a redshirt year to burn.

Frank is apparently an awful lot smarter than the rubes in Kansas.

At least Art was courteous enough to spill the beans now.  Hope the coaching search is already underway.

Yeah, he's going to need at least one more guard.  Anybody left here he'd want?  Or are we still after any in this class?

I haven't really looked at the U's roster but I'm thinking maybe they already have a serviceable guard or 2 on the roster that Frank can use as placeholders until he gets more "right fits" recruited.

if he goes anywhere, i doubt it will be Miami, IMO.

I'm just kind of assuming that at least Southwell and McGruder and probably Irving will go with him and sit the required year.  So he'll pretty much have his "right fits" in place for his second season before he even settles in down there.

Miami would be at best a sideways move, except for it being his hometown. UT probably make a push to replace Pearl.
But Frank loves us, but rick alums should give him a big fat bonus.

Incorrect, nobody will leave. Instead Schultz will cry and Currie will hire Underwood as the head coach and make give Delonte another 400K, and all our recruits will stay committed.

Meh.  Might or might not be The U but the 'tards are going to be out in force when he goes back to Florida.

"But Frank was supposed to be *LOYAL*,' they'll whine.  True, but first and foremost to his family most of whom are in South Florida.  Kansas State and his career come in distant seconds and thirds and it really doesn't matter which order they're in as neither is going to interfere with Frank doing what he believes is best for his family.

Manhattan's a nice little college town but it's not home for him and his extended family will never be there.  Enjoy the ride while it lasts, it definitely has a shelf life.

Nothing more K-stateo than the proverbial dumb ass being sure that we are going to get mumped over.

Makes perfect sense for him to want to leave when he's getting to build his own $20mil practice facility....   :bang:

"I've enjoyed my time here at Kansas State.  The program is blessed with the best fans in the country, I really mean that.   With the improvements we've made to the program and the new practice facility I'm absolutely sure that the program will continue to be extremely successful without me.  I'm just one guy and there are lots of guys who can come in here and do a whole lot better than I've done.  I'll always have great memories of this place."  Etc.

It's pretty much impossible to call the last few years "K-State getting screwed over" no matter what happens from here on out.

Exactly correct.  Which is why he'll eventually put family first and go back to Florida.  Don't be surprised if the move isn't even a lateral but a step down.  Humble guys do things like that.

Yeah, Frank returning to Miami and building the U's program into a national contender would really mean a lot to his family.

I won't blame Frank if he leaves, I just hope he doesn't torpedo the program when he leaves. I'm sure he won't try to take all his recruits and current players with him :blindfold:

The quick descent back into obscurity is going to be very painful.  The KU fans are going to be so mean.

I just hope that Frank goes to a school that doesn't already have something I hate about it.  Would be hard to overcome fully in switching allegiance from KSU to whatevs the new school is.  Frank, just choose wisely.  .
