Harrick
« on: February 10, 2010, 01:11:22 AM »
Listened to the latest Frank Martin show.  About halfway in, coming back from commercial, Wyatt announced that "one of the real fine coaches in the history of the college game", Jim Harrick was in attendance.  No explanation from Wyatt or Frank as to why Harrick was at Manhattan's Carlos O'Kelly's on a Monday night.

Clearly Currie invited Harrick up here to send Frank a message.

Not sure if this belongs here or in the TP/Trim's massive wichipak thread, but in the same show Frank again expressed his desire to play a non-con in the new arena.  However, he said due to needing a minimum number of actual 'gon games to appease season ticket holders, it'd be hard to play "home" games in both KC and Wichita in the same year.

I bet Bobby Knight asked him to come to Manhattan to help put more motion and cutting in our offense.

Or to teach the students to chant "well done...well done...than you...thank you."

speaking of which, can't the stupid ass stupid section get this done, or are they too busy designing powercat floor designs that  look like A&M's court.  GTFO and do this stupid chant, students.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

The next 2 home games should be stress free towards the end.  Perfect opportunity to make this happen.

HARRRRRIIICKKKKKKK!!!!! :curse: :curse:

As it turns out, Kansas State Athletic Director Max Urick first approached UCLA Coach Jim Harrick about replacing Dana Altman as coach. Harrick said no thanks, but suggested Pepperdine's Tom Asbury.

"Here's the guy you ought to talk to," Harrick told Urick.

Quote
"A lot of coaches would not do that. In this business a lot of guys have unbelievable egos, but here was a guy interested in what someone else thought about his team," Harrick said. "I'm a guy who wants to know what everyone thinks. I may not use the information, but I want to know what all 50 golf pros think of my game. One of them is going to say something to help me."

i like the part where he mentions that some coaches have impressive egos.  and then transitions into talking about himself.
