The only gripe against Mack Brown would be his apparent inability to make in game adjustments. It seems like if his game plan from the week leading up to the game doesn't work, he just concedes the game.

I think this is only true when he's playing K-State.

2010-2011: the only years Texas hasn't won 9 games in a season under Mack.  he could do it again this year if he's fortunate.  that would be once in 14 seasons that Mack didn't win at least 9 games.

i was looking at 2001-2009 because that may be the most impressive stretch for any coach in the history of college football.  dumb eff

Can we get Mack Brown as recruiting coordinator when he gets fired from Texas?  Also, I see he hasn't coached defense ever...would he be better than Cosh as DC?

aha.  oops.  read the years wrong.  no wonder i was so confused.  FSU under Bowden and UT under Mack is a very good comparo.  both of those periods could be considered the best coaching performances in college football history.  thanks for helping make my point.

however, i think the edge goes to Mack over Bobby for playing in a tougher conference.  a much tougher conference.  in the division considered the toughest in football for most of his tenure.

Turner Gill would have a run like that starting in his third season in the ACC.

almost.  Having grown up in FL as an FSU fan I can say that is not the case.  FSU played Miami and UF in their non-com when they were winning big time.  They also regularly played Notre Dame and the rest of the ACC wasn't as dog shitty as it is now.
