It's ironic that Olbermann gave to political candidates after criticizing Fox News because its owner, Rupert Murdoch, gave $1 million donation to the Republican Governors Association. "Fox News has put its money where its mouth is," Olbermann said in an August segment that questioned the network's impartiality.

In October, Olbermann again raised the issue of Murdoch's donations, during an interview with Democratic Rep. James Clyburn. Olbermann asked whether there was "a legislative response to the idea that there is a national cable news outlet that goes beyond having a point of view and actually starts to shill for partisan causes and actually starts to donate to partisan groups of one party."

LOL

:surprised:  He should go on Hannity with Karl Rove and Palin in some sort of bizarro version of late night with Bill Maher.

John Stewart agreed to come on Fox Sunday with Chris Wallace....wonder if that will actually happen (not really, he's too chicken crap)

I'm glad MSNBC is suspending him for this.

And you guys are complete dumbarses to actually think this corruption isn't happening on both divides. You pretend at least to be smarter than this.
Sean Hannity literally goes on the campaign trail for republicans and donated $5,000 to Michelle Bachman's campaign who appeared regularly on his program. 4 of the most likely candidates for the republican presidential nomination in 2012 are currently paid by Fox News as contributors. Two have or had their own television show.

Everyone losses with this. A major restructuring of our entire news media is imperative.

It's the hypocrisy that is funny with Olberman. I wonder if he will make himself "The Worst Person in the World!!!!" when he comes back?

Hannity makes no claims to be non-partisan. He readily admits to being a shill for conservatism.

Until this came out I had no idea MSNBC considered Olberman an "news journalist".  That, in and of itself, makes this pretty funny.  Tack on the fact he criticized the owner of Fox about his campaign contributions is what makes this funny.

He should criticize Immelt for his campaign donations.  :nono:

Not one person employed by MSNBC in a private conversation would contend that Olberman is anything but an opinion journalist. MSNBC claiming to the public he is in fact a journalist and sauntering about as though they are legitimately disapointed or dismayed by this 'revelation' is probably more standard operating procedure for those in the know than it is humorous, unfortunately.

The end of GE owning NBC may have some interesting impacts on msnbc.  The news division will no longer have to be a GE shill and there may actually be an effort, over time, to build some respect as a news channel, thus they will need to find ways to shed some of their big contracts/worthless personalities who would block that process.  Olberman may be the first one to be axed by execs looking for an excuse so they can make the change.

Rachel Maddow came to the defense of her suspended MSNBC colleague Keith Olbermann, saying network chiefs have made their point and the "Countdown" host should be reinstated.

Maddow also sought to dispel claims that MSNBC is a left-wing version of Fox News, saying the Murdoch-owned broadcaster has a history of "not just giving money to candidates, but actively endorsing campaigns and raising millions of dollars for politicians and political parties."

"Their network is run as a political operation. Ours isn't," Maddow said during the final segment of her show Friday. "Yeah, Keith's a liberal, and so am I. But we're not a political operation - Fox is. We're a news operation."

Maddow added that the rules surrounding political contributions "are part of how you know that."

LOL, delusional.

The end of GE owning NBC may have some interesting impacts on 30 Rock.
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

LOL, delusional.

She seriously can't be this Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) .  Jeffrey Immelt gives hundreds of thousands of dollars to political candidates.  It's public record.

Even after the sale of NBC, GE retained a large minority stake (I think 49%).  Don't know who the Comcast CEO is, but I'm guessing he did the same.

All these companies are publicly traded
