Jack Trice Stadium Expansion
« on: February 09, 2010, 09:35:00 AM »
I'm not sure if these photos have ever gone across the boards of Wildcat Nation, but word around Cyclone Nation is that Iowa State will begin work on the endzone project at the end of this football season. Capacity of Jack Trice Stadium will be between 62,500 and 65,000, making Jack Trice the 3rd largest stadium in the Big 12 North.

Haverhill, where is the funding coming from?

Happy for you Haverhill.  I went to the ISU/KSU game there a couple years ago and  :barf: a bit from how crumby it looked.  Much needed renovation, and I'm sure will look better than any "Gridiron Club".

However, I do question the seating.  When I went a over 2 years ago there were probably 5-10K empty seats, and about as many KSU fans as ISU.  Do you expect to fill the 62K for most games?

Also ISU has caught wind of this past week's Walking Taco PAK and have dedicated a good portion of this expansion towards building out a massive Walking Taco dining hall.

Great news.  And 3rd in the B12 N?  Not too shabby, there, ISU.  Keep up the good work!

ISU really loves crappy football.
I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.

We renovated concourses (concessions, restrooms, club sections, suites on west side) over the past two off seasons. The addition of the South Endzone and opposing locker room facility on the South side will likely start in the next year or two.

went to a game there back in early 2000's.  kind of resembled WSU's football stadium except with an upper deck.  good to hear renovations are coming.

p.s. can we borrow some money from you ISU?

Let's not think of ourselves as having the 10th, 11th or 12th largest budgets.  Let's think of ourselves as being the 1st, 2nd or 3rd "Most Fiscally Responsible".   :ksu:

The guy who founded Roundup is a ISU Donor.

Quote
John E. Franz is an organic chemist who discovered the herbicide glyphosate while working at Monsanto Company in 1970. The chemical became the active ingredient in Roundup, a broad-spectrum, post-emergence herbicide.

John Edward Franz was born on December 21, 1929 in Springfield, Illinois. By the age of ten, he knew he wanted to be a scientist. Franz received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Illinois in 1951 and received his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Minnesota in 1955.

Dude isn't even an alum and you think he's going to pony up that kind of dough?  Guess he has a guilty conscience about the ass raping Monsanto (recently named the least ethical company in the world.) has been giving farmers for years.  It also seems a bit odd that a public university that does so much ag research would receive large donations from a private donor whose wealth is directly tied to an ag company's profits.   Having that guy's name connected to a university is worse than uk's donors.
