Hartman wasn't even the saftey that played the worst today.
Lamur was in so many potential poster shots for OSU players, it was frightening.
If you want exhibit A for poor coaching, it's this kid. I didn't really pay attention to how he was used in Koenning's scheme, but what they're asking him to do in this one (i.e. make on field decisions) is not his strong suit.
Indeed, unbelievable how our safeties have digressed this far from last season. Josh Moore, wish you were here.
Caught some of the Illinois game yesterday, announcers talking about how adding Koenning made it easier for Zook to step back and focus on head coaching stuff not defensive scheming/calling plays. This is what Snyds needs on his staff, a coordinator he can trust. I'm sure he sits in his office worrying about how bad Cosh prepares his defense. On the other hand, his inability to hold onto Koenning (or other good assistants) could be the fatal blow to his calming the waters experiment. If he can't keep solid assistants from making lateral moves then we won't be seeing any 9 win seasons soon. What was Vic's stated reason for going to Illinois?
We got zero pressure on 4 man rushes and blitzing Hrebec or Childs (or any LB on the roster) is pretty much not worth it. This defense screams for a Josh Buhl type player. I actually miss Reggie Walker. Remember when the defense was what won us games? I will say that the offense really let us down yesterday. With our current defensive roster, yesterday's performance against that team is about as best we can ask for.
Dave Lapham (FSN analyst) kept going on and on about Kendall Hunter having to deal with safeties in the box due to the WR's suspension. Acted like it was some amazing feat to outrun Hartmann. I'm fairly certain that from here on out when I think of the 2010 Cats the mental image will be Hartmann losing ground to any and all ball carriers.
Horns are going to take it to us, 30-17.
