Hell, an injury may work out well for us.  I'm becoming afraid that he will decommit and end up elsewhere.  An injury may well scare off some of the big boys recruiting him.  We still have Tuggle for 2 years.  Sams can rehab and be ready to take over after that.  Course, I've been drinking a bit.

Salmen quarterback Daniel Sams was treated and released from Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton Thursday night after being injured in the final seconds of the Spartans' 35-28 loss to Franklinton.

Salmen Coach Jerry Leonard said Friday morning that Sams did not have a concussion as was originally feared.

"There were a lot of kids feeling that way on both sides."

Sams was blindsided after throwing an interception that sealed the Demons' victory in a matchup of the two top teams in Class 4A.

Sams, a senior who has committed to Kansas State, ran for 165 yards and two touchdowns, threw for 30 yards and another score and had three receptions for 75 yards in the game.

Leonard said Sams should be able to play in the Spartans' regular season finale against Pearl River next week.
