I just don't think that the NCAA has any real reason to hurry this process along.  Much better for everyone involved to let Cam play, sell a gazillion tickets, have a trillion people tune into the games, and have everyone talking about it for the rest of the season.  If Auburn reaches the MNC game, Cam better be there or AU becomes a huge dog and noone watches the game.

The NCAA makes very little money off of College Football . . . most of their budget is derived from March Madness.

Always happy to educate the perpetually uninformed.

So, all the tickets to games Auburn is involved in are free?  And the advertisers don't have to pay for spots during college football games?  Bowl games generate no revenue?  Dax- you get the Golden Helmet award for a lifetime of Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) achievments.

You implied that the NCAA should take its time, because the NCAA stands to make more money and get more press by letting Newton play . . . do we need to breakdown your original post?   It doesn't impact the NCAA one way or the other financially if Cam Newton plays.   That's why the NCAA will likely hammer football programs much harder than top tier basketball programs.

Always happy to help the stupid.

Everyone involved = only the NCAA?  What size of mongoloid head do you have?  I want to make sure this helmet fits.

Oh okay, let's take a look at this then.   Nobody is going to tune into the Iron Bowl if Cam Newton isn't playing??  The next upcoming Auburn games aren't already sold out . . . still plenty of ticket available for that Auburn-Alabama game . . . controversy doesn't draw in tv viewers??

Carry on jt . . . impress us with more of your "wisdom".

Good to see you have the Iron Bowl covered.  I see you have already mentioned the Auburn-Bama game.  I noticed that you have already previewed the yearly matchup between the national powerhouses from the state of Alabama.  And you're totally right- losing a Heisman candidate to scandel during a run at the MNC will clearly have no ill effects.  That's why it happens all the time.  Like yearly.  Pretty much every year.  About once every 12 months.

It's two top 10 teams in one of the biggest rivalries in the country you rough ridin' ignorant hick. Losing Cam does nothing for the $$$ of this game.

Does a Newton-less Auburn losing to Bama do anything?  I mean, it's not the SEC stands to lose any money or prestige here.  And it's not the SEC has any sway over the NCAA or anything.

Nearly the entirety of your original post dealt with financial outcomes, ticket sales and the attention being paid to the situation . . . it didn't  have anything to do with what you're discussing NOW.   Do we need to go back and look at the first post that brought about this discussion??

Alright, I'l admit-  you guys have bested me.  You have made it totally clear that having Cam Newton playing college football offers zero financial benefit for anyone.  The fans will attend the games regardless.  The tvs will be tuned to the games in spite of him.  Boosters will cut checks, win or lose.  You win guys, you are way too smart for me.

Your original post said, "rest of the season" . . . all the things you mentioned are all long term possible outcomes.

The notion that no one will tune into a Auburn participating MNC because Cam Newton isn't there is absurd as well . . . if Newton were to be suspended now and they still make the MNC game, it would be a ratings bonanza for too many reasons to explain here.   If he gets suspended right befor a MNC, the initial ratings will be off the charts because people will want to see how Auburn does without him.

Auburn doesn't win out this season without Newton.  Auburn isn't in the MNC picture w/o Newton.  Period.  Why do you think a school would be willing to pay a single kid 200k?  Because the school makes money by winning football games.  If having good players doesn't result in increased revenue, than why do schools spend millions recruiting players?  I'm done arguing with you Dax, it's like arguing with my freakin 5 year old niece.  Sadly, I think she may undersand the dynamics of college football better than Dax does.

All of that is just Captain Obvious obfuscation and has nothing to do with you posted just a little while ago . . . just because I put the clown suit on you based on what you said just a few posts ago doesn't mean you have to go away all mad and pissy, or, maybe it does.

Nope looks like that helmet is right were it should be. On your head. The NCAA, the body, makes little money off of Football compared to Basketball. They have outsourced the money making arm to the BCS and the bowls.

Who the eff said they didn't?!  The entire point of my post was that everyone makes more money when Cam is eligible and it would make more financial sense to drag their feet until Cam is off campus to make any rulings.  Read the rough ridin' post retards. And stormnut, seriuosly dude, you are easily the least intelligent person I know, and I volunteer at the Special Olympics every year.  Why don't you go check the humidity or something?

"volunteer" in the sense that your participation is not mandatory.
