Always up to date.  J/k, bro.   :shy:

I'm actually probably going to get this book to read pretty soon, which I believe is about this topic.  I really enjoy reading about astrophysics topics.  Used to read Isaac Asimov's essays, and recently read this book.  I feel like the thought experiments that are frequently involved help stretch out the mind...

Also, I like watching space sci-fi, so it's cool to learn about the actual science and whether the stuff they show is actually possible.

If I could go back and do it all again I would have gone the Physics route instead of the Econ route.  Fascinates me though I don't understand any of it.  The best book I read (because it's so simple) was this:

http://www.amazon.com/Death-Black-Hole-Cosmic-Quandaries/dp/0393330168/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1265653978&sr=1-1

It's just a collection of short essays NTD did for Nature magazine.

Interesting.  I did econ too, and I often wish I would have done at least a physics minor in college.  I'll have to check out that book.  I think I may have heard an interview on NPR or somewhere with the author a few years back.

My buddy is trying to prove the theory of time asymmetric quantum mechanics.  Which would suck, because if true, it would totally prevent steve dave from going back in time and becoming a physicist.

The only thing I understand about physics is if you hold a bowling ball on a string up to your chin and let it go it won't come back and hit you in the face.  Thank you The Physical World I & II.

Your buddy sounds like an idiot.  Everyone knows you can't go backwards....only forwards.

One time I ate a bunch of shrooms and went backwards and repeated the same 2 second span of time about 15 times rapid fire.  It was ridic.  :runaway:

there is a good one called from alchemy to quarks.

Ive got about a third of the way through A Brief History of Time on more than one occasion, but keep getting stalled out.  I think I've been trying too hard to digest and fully understand every concept presented in the book.  Fascinating subject though.

My room mate and his friend are engineers and we always hang out and talk crazy physics crap. I still have to take physics II to graduate so I'll almost be on their level after that
