shameful dive from jermaine jones leaves jamaica a man down.  can't wait to see a superman .gif

i thought it was a div at first but replays have shown that his ankle did get clipped.

jones did embellish to make sure it was called and could have kept his feet if he wanted to.  no Jamaican player argued emhpasizing that it was the correct call.

haven't seen any of the footage that came out showing he was clipped yet.  it was an obvious attempt to chop him down so no argument is only natural. i guess if jones did get nicked i'd love for there to be some basis to red the jamaican dude and yellow jones.  obviously never going to happen but i hate crap like that.  jones was putting on his cape either way - sounds like he just got lucky to get brushed.

That video shows it, but it looks like he could have easily stayed up if he wasn't looking to dive at the first hint of contact.

I know he had a good game, but that dive and a few other things he did during the match made him look like a huge doucher.

thanks j-v - forgot to scope it out after work.  letter of the law i guess you've gotta book the guy.  leaves a sour taste in my mouth though - simulation that by happenstance forced some contact vs. just embellishing contact.  he did have a pretty good game - you hate to see him resort to that crap.

guess i need to move past it - anxious for wednesday now.

by rule of law it's not embellishment if contact was made

Replace Jones with Edu and we're perfect

Panama  :chainsaw:
We should win this as long as we don't shoot ourselves in the foot. After the own goal and penalty eff ups we outplayed them

Club vs. Country tonight w/ SKC playing. I'll watch USMNT and DVR SKC.

Do you live in KC?  I know they show the SKC games on KSMO but I'm guessing that's only available around KC?

Seemed to play a couple nice balls, but that one was pretty amazing.  Really rooting for him to make a comeback.

michael bradley looked like ass.   his dad's tactics seemed like a fail until Adu checked in.  i was hoping to see Adu go in for him but replacing Agudelo seems like it did the trick.

jones looked great.  was nervous about him getting a yellow.  lichaj and dolo again great at fullback.  feeling much better about the back line w/ boca inside providing some maturity in central defense.  however, i'm still not sold using Jones/Bradley together.

i have to miss the final on Saturday for a HS reunion.  it might be difficult to avoid score until i get to watch replay.  the mexico/honduras game last night on Univision looked amazing compared to fox soccer.  maybe i'll record and watch on uni so i don't have to listen to that muppet, jp dellacamera

So the game on Saturday? Jones and Bradley looked like they switched bodies yesterday, but both still need to start. Is the Klejstan experiment over or do we keep Donovan as an impact sub for the 2nd half? I think Agudelo should still start up top on his own, then go to Adu again if necessary. We've played our best against Jamacia and Panama2, so the line up probably shouldn't change.

Howard
Dolo-Goodson-Boca-Lichaj
Bradley-Jones
Klejstan-Dempsey-Bedoya
Agudelo

Bring on Donovan at halftime or 50-55 mins for Klestan or Bedoya, whoever is playing worse
Edu on if Bradley or Jones are having bad games
Adu on for Agudelo if we are tied or behind late on.

you have to start Donovan against Mexico.  pull Klejstan who i thought got dominated in the midfield last night.  Donovan should have fresh legs while Mexicans had to face 120 minutes of 2 footed tackling last night.  Honduras was playing dirty.

keep Agudelo up top and if they need offense in the 2nd half bring Adu in for him and move Dempsey up top again.  if they still need more offense bring in Sasha for Bradley/Jones (whoever is playing w/ a Yellow).

Anyone watch Mexico last night? We'll have our hands full, especially mid-field. And Chicharito.

Effing Chicharito and his stupid haircut stealing our Chicano prospects.

statement of obviousness undercut by Mexico's inability to finish off Honduras in regular time.

who's this Chicharito guy?  never heard of him before last night.    :D

top strategy right here. i do think that we might be best served to start adu (maybe instead of klejstan?), since he is our most creative player on the roster at this point.

jones is a must because mexico will get physical, and we need to keep someone watching hernandez.

also, that backline has been so solid, especially with lichaj and boca sparking our attack channel through the wings.

Adu was nice last night, but lets not get carried away. He should play a role, but a good 25 minutes doesn't mean he should start.
