Very Prince-esque for sure. I have never seen a more talent-depleted defense than tonight - that ridiculously underthrown pass for TD was inexcuseable.

11/08/08 @ *Missouri L 24 41

11/15/08 vs. *Nebraska L 28 56

11/01/08 @ *Kansas L 21 52

tonight was worse than any of the above games.

don't let the total number of points allowed fool you.  pelini pulled off the gas big time.

Without question - Pelini could have had 700 + yds of offense without basically trying. Martinez was trotting the last 20 MF yds on his long TD runs - our defense is comepletely heartless.

When NU put 73 on us, they were trying. Tonight, it was purely zone read and run up the middle. So horribly pathetic.

I disagree.  Half the games in 2008 looked just like this, and most of them were against bad teams

What performance was worse than this? 1st and 10 from the nubb 20 - TD and that could have happened all night... Pelini knew it. There have been some crappy performances, but this looked like these guys had never played organized sports in their lives (except Brandon Harold).

So, please elaborate.

Tonight was pretty bad. Blame it on whoever you'd like to. But when you don't have enough LBs, there's not much you can do. Nubby found a play that worked and they were gonna keep running it until it stopped working (the one play they ran something different they scored on a huge pass).

Nubby = Good. Kats = Far less good.

How long do your meltdowns usually last? Cause I can tell you're in the middle of one hell of a meltdown

Do you disagree?

If you do, I'm sure you'd point to the 73-31 Nebraska game (on the road) as a worse performance.  The difference was NU that game passed the ball 43 times.  Last night, they passed 10(!) times.  In 2007, KSU had the ball for 26 minutes, this year they had it for 34.  In 2007, Nebraska got 8.8 Yards per play.  Last night?  11.3 YPP.  11.3!

Can't argue with any of your meltdown.  I knew we were in trouble after about 4 possessions when they sat at around 8 YPC and we were at 2.5.  Then the wheels fell off in the 3rd quarter.

But I do think some (SOME) of the issues are fixable.  The terrible angles we took for one.  And I think we put in some new schemes (like the 3 safety look with Lamur spying Martinez) that absolutely blew up in our face.  Many times we had a player at the point of attack to make a play, but our run fits were terrible and we had no one behind us to bail us out when Martinez got out.

Part of the problems, Snyder said, "was being in the wrong set and sometimes we were not where we're supposed to be. We have a lot of things to correct."

Really?  12 days to prepare and we have players in the wrong set and sometimes not where they were supposed to be?  Seriously?  I was mortified when Vic left and Cosh was made D coordinator, and this is why.

I don't disagree that it was an absolutely horrible performance, I am just keeping it in perspective.

Such as, Nebraska is really damn good this year. Maybe you can disagree on that a little bit, but I think it's obvious they're a top 15 team.  Then, you go look at Nebraska's record in 07, and they were not a good team that year. 5-7 I believe.

Last year at Tech was pretty bad and felt about the same as last night.   :dunno:

I know Tech threw many more passes but it was their second string qb and let's face it tech passing is like nu running... you know it's coming.  Of course we were at home last night.

How's this for perspective:
KSU's DE last night = 70.67
KSU v NU 2007 = 68.43
