I love how Carson Coffman is somehow putting pressure on our defense to allow QBs to run untouched for 60 yards at a time.

The defense is bad by itself. I hardly think CC made them give up 10 yards per play.

Do you realize that NU only had 10 drives last night? They scored on 8 of them. Their best starting field position was their own 32 yard line.

That's horrible.

That's beyond horrible.

The only things that kept them from scoring 100 were:

1. Our offense did not turn the ball over
2. There were no breakdowns in special teams.
3. Our offense gained yards and ate a lot of clock.

The point is that there may be a more viable option at QB.

Hartman and E. Lamur are the two best options at safety. They both suck, yes. But they're the best options. There's a good chance Coffman isn't the best option at QB.

I know typed this after the debacle last night, but this "perfect football" analogy is for the whole season.
Not only can the D not give up big plays (duh) but it cannot give up many points (more than probably 17) per game average or KSU doesn't win, because you know as well as I that CCQ cannot hoist a team on his shoulders and throw his way to a victory.
And don't gimme the BS about "the drive" vs. UCF...had he played well the entire game (or even average) he wouldn't have had to pull that drive out of his ass to win the game.
