grilled cheese

grilled cheese survey-
1) do you use butter or marg, or something else like non-stick pam?

2) how do you put the butter/marg/pam on the bread?

3) what kind of cheese do you use?

4) what kind of bread do you use?

5) how do you cut them, if at all?

6) do you salt the pan before cooking the sandwich?

7) favorite accompanying dish, i.e.- if soup, what flavor?  chips?

7) tomato soup, hot sauce in soup as well as between cheese slices in sandwich

There is a fine line between a gourmet grilled cheese and a panini.

I believe the only sides allowed for grilled cheese are tomato soup or ketchup.

3. Sharp Cheddar. Will use American singles if I have to.  On occasion I will slice up some onion to toss in the melt.  :lick:
4. Mrs. Barids Large Enriched White Bread
5. No Cuts
6. Never
7. Polish dill spear w/ Sour Cream & Onion Chips.  Tom. Soup is meh.

1) Butter.  
2) Melt in small dish and spread on with brush.
3) A thin slice of velveeta mixed with shredded colby-jack is the best.  Sometimes a thin slice of velveeta plus a thin slice of pepper jack.
4) White or wheat bread.
5) No cutting.
6) No salt.
7)Chips.  I don't like tomato soup.

clams, we have a cow butter tub.  I also like to put a tomato and spinach on the sandwich while cooking.  Sometimes, if I'm feeling feisty, I'll put some Tony Cachare's on the butter.
