whenever i read this thread title, i think of the eazy-e song "boyz in the 'hood"

funny story about that song. ice cube wrote it, as he did 99% of easy's stuff. easy repaid him by crafting his own deal with jerry heller and only paying cube like a thousand dollars. this caused ice cube to go solo and nwa to tank because they only had dre's beats and nobody to write lyrics. i mean have you ever actually listened to efil4zaggin? terrible, just terrible. then dre finally saw the light and left and made his own lable because he was sick of getting ripped of as well.

went to Wabash again for late late afternoon drinks. Staff is still clueless. It's hard to watch sometimes. Atmosphere still pretty cool though. The bar on the roof is now open.

How's the rooftop deck?

No idea where NWA came from but I agree. Eazy was the crap.

Best view of the Ville, although that isn't saying much since it isn't that great. You can see partially down Moro both ways. It's definitely fun just to chill up there though.

Currie will bartend, easier spot to chat up the customers for contributions.

oscar will recruit new employees.

Fitz will be banned before the place opens.

there is one near my house here. it's fine. not really a college atmosphere though. also there are no glasses. all plastic cups. I hate that. it has the "meet the guys and have pitchers of bud while the kids just run wild all over the rough ridin' place and then we eat regular bar food and then we drive home buzzed (buzzed driving IS drunk driving)" vibe. they have a lot of TVs.

Most of the food at Tanners food is average.  I actually like the chicken lips.  Drinking out of plastic cups is horrible.  It's definitely a KU t-shirt bar which can make it unbearable during basketball season.  At least you won't have to worry about the latter.  I honestly don't know why it's been so successful in Kansas City.

I would put Tanners at the top of the list of the local chain sports bars in the metro - above Johnny's, The Other Place, and all the KC Hopps concepts.

PPs
tvs are top notch
cleanliness
decent selection of bottled beer
Taco Tuesday is decent (have both soft and hard available)
$5.99 Roast Beef or Chicken fried steak lunch on Wed is good

NN
Tank 7 about the best thing on tap and really only Blvd products outside of usual domestics
No shuffleboard table (One of Johnny's few redeeming features, is there one in the ville anywhere?)

Pat's had the only shuffleboard in the Ville. Nicname and I were known to dominate pud's on it.
