Keltic Star had a good vibe going on inside, although the place seems very confused about itself

one of the cooler ville interiors, IMO.

Wabash seemed confused about itself too. I mean the rooftop vibe was all clubby with elite blue lighting and...country music? (And a hilariously clueless bartender.)

there are no good jobs in the service industry

Some ppl make a lot of $ tho. I mean, they're not dream jobs, but I bet some of those peeps on Vanderpumps make like 65-70K a year. Not bad for tossing drinks.

One of my old Co-Workers worked at McCormicks and Smidt (sp) and said he made 60k working full time before he got a degree.

He did owe a ton of money to the IRS in back taxes for tips tho :whistle1:

Nice! I quit 610 and bartended/served at Barleys before moving onto higher education. I was making 1/3 more at Barleys than I was at Entercom.  :frown:

The last time I was at Mae's for Trivia, the server was so bad that myself, specklefar, MSLH and PurpleBear had to make a can pyramid before she realized we were ready for another round.  I'm not a service snob, but jesus christ. An hour between checking in on a trivia night that really wasn't very busy and had multiple servers working.

servers in CA base hourly wage is +$8/hr but that's not the point.  and the discussion isn't one of short term money.

Decent chance your server was ignoring you on purpose. Likely because you do obnoxious things like make beer can pyramids.

The obnoxious activity came after she took our drink orders and forgot about us for an hour.
