The real question lost in all the ugly jealousy from the other site is why wasn't Fitz there at is likely the biggest basketball gathering in the state, and formal announcement of Midnight Madness?

Give him a break, this whole basketball story, he's kind of tired of it.

Sat next to a doctor last night at the banquet and he was explaining, between bites of delicious strawberry cheesecake, that one of the unfortunate effects of autoimmune disease is an unhealthy hatred of good college basketball teams.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Sorry, guys, but FITZ has his hands full.  Between managing two twitter accounts, a bad case of autoimmune, worse eyes, and his sick and tiredness of actually doing work and journalism, there just isn't enough time in the day to provide coverage of the biggest men's basketball kick-off event in our school's history.

Plus he's got another premium content/twitter crisis on his hands that he's trying to diffuse.

Priorities, folks.

"they appeared to be just completely hammered."

crap, really?  I'll give 'em Limestone.  That ol boy was about 6 deep in Jack, but the rest of our table was pretty reserved I thought.  I mean, I'd really hate to think that I came across poorly to that gaggle of blue hairs sitting... well... all around us.

It's also pretty accurate that we were fawning all over the players.  I haven't washed my hand since I shook Victor Ojalaye's hand and asked him what class he had in the morning.

KC Catbackers must be very different.  This comment would suggest bonding with the species that populates the rest of the state.

Why am I always the one that gets singled out!!?   :frown:  It's not like I'm SD or anything.

The crowd at this think did not really drink.  Given the choice, I'd bet the players prefer some drunk guys who support the crap out of the team and will rap with them to the 50-something weirdos who don't drink, won't talk to them but stand 5 feet away and take numerous pictures of them like they were an exhibit at a museum.

The banquet was in KC and sponsored by the KC Catbackers. I think it's great the KC Catbackers do this event, just as I think it's great Catbacker groups have events all over the state.

But personally, I don't expect the staff to cover this event anymore than they should cover the event in Garden City or an event held by any Catbacker group in the state.

It is an off week for the FB team. GPC has been going hard and I would expect them to rest a bit when there is no FB. That's just me though. Some may feel differently.

The thing I like about powertardism the most is the ardent devotion these people have for defending mediocrity.

Also saw some dude forcing the guys to autograph photos of his infant.  Not a big deal but pretty sure the players would rather kick it with some guys who are having a good time then make out "have a blessed day Jordan" autographs.
