There's no really excuse for Wyatt being as bas as he is.
His play call on the touchdown to Quarles is a prime example:
Wyatt starts the sequence by not addressing the down, distance, field position OR the football formation with the personnel on the field. (This is typical but it is extremely aggravating)
Then says, "The ball is snapped, Coffman drops back to pass, he has his man at the 30, at the 10, touchdown Wildcats. Touchdown Aubrey Quarles". Absurd, a fifty yard play and virtually no depiction whatsoever as to what actually transpired outside of the QB apparently throwing a pass, an unnamed receiver catching it for a touchdown.
At the end of the day, I think it just really boils down to the fact that Wyatt really isn't a football guy. He doesn't grasp the intricacies of the formations and I don't believe he studies our personnel well enough to identify our players as the game is unfolding. As annoying as Holthus can be and Harlan before him, these guys are simply at another level in terms of their grasp of the game and their ability to verbally encapsulate the in game action from sequence to sequence.
Any way you cut it, Wyatt is fracking brutal.
