Elite card reading vending machines

These all over campus and when working are incredible.  But, how come half of them say "cash only", or will scan the card somedays, then the next day it rough ridin' says cash only.

A little venting because I needed some caffeine for my 805 today, and the one machine in Durland that's usually reliable, had that dreaded message of cash only. It's a great idea, since what college kid ever has cash with them? I usually get cash out on thursday, then spend the said cash amount on booze/bars during the weekend.

take five boxes. put a five dollar bill in each. bury boxes in five different locations spread across campus. only dig up boxes in case of money emergencies like this.

that's what i do.  ya, it sucks during the winter but it doesn't suck as bad as jonesin' for a Dew and getting the "cash only" message.

Oh hey guys, I was just sipping on my diet dr pepper that I bought using my card from the machine.  It's super icy-cold (I detect little flakes of ice even I think ) and super bubbly.  yum

That is really an expensive vending machine. I wonder why they have permitted them to operate in your location if that is the case. It should be stopped as early as now as you requested for it. Talk to the authorities who can decide for it.

Most people don't agree with the operation because of logistical issues specific to the operation of the actual operation.  Any thoughts on ways to get around the hurdles?
