So, just about wrapped up finishing my basement. Leaning heavily towards a projector as opposed to a Plasma/LCD. Anyone have any thoughts on the two? Or any recomendo's on a projo? Thinking ceiling mount, 120" screen, and lots of c@'s games  :D

No one regrets a projector if the room can be dark. Look into Benq DLP projectors.

Projectors are way more expensive.

Incorrect.

A good 1080p projector and a 120" screen, while watching a HD source, blows away all other options.

I had a potential renter offer to finish my basement on his own dime per my specs. Was caught off guard.

He's puttin body parts in your walls.

Quick question felix, how do you feel about sub-leasers?

If they're packed into the insulation/walls up to code, I am okay. Otherwise, it's a no go.

This is what I am thinking, I've seen them in action in other basements and want very much. Those Benq look very legit. Thinking 2500+ lumens, its a pretty dark basement. Gonna have to run some HDMI in the ceiling.

As long as you will not be watching in a room with large windows that cannot be covered well, I wouldn't worry much about lumens. Most current home theater projectors are more than bright enough. But, always, the darker the room, the better the picture.

Epson Powerlite 8350 + 100" Elite Screens Ez-Frame Series in gray instead of white if you are going to have some ambient or overhead light when you watch.  Bought the screen from Amazon for under 600.  Might see if there are vouchers for free projector mounts when you buy a screen from them, as there sometimes are.  We have 2 rows of theater chairs with the back row on a riser.  PM mobile and I'll send a pic.

I had three exposed poles in my basement before I had it completely redone.  Now the metal poles are encased in wood and look pretty elite.  The trimmers did a beautiful job.  Pro tip- do not skimp on the trim work.  Planning on incorporating them into an English style pub/wet bar.

ben ji is currently finishing his basement and would like your help

Basement living room is 300sq feet, Budget is around 500-700
Quick synopsis

-Purchased gpas old house that had not been updated since the early 80's, peeled wallpaper and painted upstairs before moving in. Currently working on basement.
-Basement had shitty old tile that was coming up, have just completed removing all the tile.
-Original plan was to stain/paint the concrete but the tile adhesive is still on the ground, would need to rent some tools and spend an entire weekend working on it to remove all the adhesive/tar then stain it.
-Second plan was to install some pergo laminate wood flooring, was quoted around 1200 from lowes for installation and everything.
-Am now looking at carpet squares.

I need gE to help me out here and shoot me some Ideas. I am not looking to spend a crapton of money as I just want to make the basement decent right now. Will prob go all out on basement in the next 10 years.
