Use a trusted contractor.  They can work with your budget.  Let them to the heavy lifting.  Tell them what you are willing to do.  I did all the painting, staining, & urethane work.  Do the stuff you know how to do/ can learn how to do/ willing to do.

Hire experienced basement finisher AppleJack to do that crap. It will probably take me like 9 months to finish because I like to drink and junk.

For $700, best bet is to buy 5gal of paint, rent a sprayer, then go nuts. Paint it all.  Really only option on a $2/sf budget.

Your welcome.

SD,

A couple questions:

1. How long did it take them to do it from start to finish (I'm assuming like 3 weeks?)
2. How many sq. ft did you finish
3. What was the cost per sq. ft

TIA

yeah, like 3 weeks. they still have to put carpet down so probably 3 weeks and however long that takes
1,200, left the back as unfinished storage area
like $22 a sq ft roughly. that includes fixtures, bathroom stuff, etc.
