Can we vote Deb out of this thing?  Or, like, make her have hers early in the day before the ESPN people get there or something?

Or sell the exclusive broadcasting rights of KSU LadyCats MM to Lifetime

We are very fortunate to have our basketball programs under the leadership of Coach Martin and Coach Patterson and we look forward to this opportunity to showcase our institution and programs to the nation. The event will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, October 15, which is the evening after our football game against the Jayhawks in Lawrence, and we hope you pack Bramlage. We are planning a few surprises for you that night so mark your calendars to attend!

I'm really worried that this and a couple of quick ads at football games will be the only advertising for Madness.

I'm really not that worried about attendance. KSU people are usually pretty good about packing the crap out of events like this. I'm a lot more worried about what "a few surprises" is going to be.

KSU is going to have a salute to our troops and toby keith or some crap and I'm going to slide my arm across the table of whatever airport bar I'm watching it at knocking off all of the drinks and food before throwing my carry on briefcase on the ground and stomping off to get arrested by the TSA.

And if we do properly advertise this, it will be the first time, in the history of kansas state wildcat university emaw athletics that we have done so.

We will have good attendance, regardless of advertisement. I'd honestly rather the athletic department save their money on advertising this one.

right before Willie breaks out the ol' t-shirt cannon and the band strikes up the Wabash and espn pans to a shot of the recruits looking confused while a line of students hump the air six inches from the back of their heads.

I'm still unsure about how important midnight madnesses are.  KU puts on the lamest lame-fest I've ever seen at Lame night at the Phog and they are always signing highly rated recruits.  Are they getting these guys in spite of Lame Night or because of it?  *boom, roasted.

* because of how I switched Late Night to Lame Night.

It's not even about that for me. I just want to see if we can actually pull one of these kind of events off and look big-timey on tv for once in our lives.

Have you ever watched one of these hosted by a big time basketball school?    They're all really stupid, I've never seen one that wasn't stupid.  Our goal needs to get the place filled up and loud.   Also, the students need to pretend to know what to do during those times when they don't know what they're supposed to be doing.

Also, if you think the night will be complete without some cheesy laser light show (think giant powercat on gym floor), you're nuts.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Remember how big time we thought we were when Katz was coming to Hugg's Midnight Madness. Then, iirc, we turned on him because he snubbed fff.

if they can take two remote controlled flying objects and crash them into each other with candy or tshirts or something falling out with a loud explosion then it will be a success in my book.

I listed a laser show in my list of requirements bro. I'm all about that crap. I'd be down with passing out purple glow sticks at the doors and blasting sandstorm while everybody goes nuts. We  should cover Willie in glow in the dark paint and have him run out and do the k-s-u- chant.

My suggestion on top of some other big stuff  :zip:  that will be coming that night, is Nike reps handing out cash to any worthy recruits.

yeah.  the only possible thing about one that could impress a recruit is that there's a bunch of dumbasses that will apparently watch anything XXU bball related.

well that, and in this case, the slight chance of being on natl. tv.

That and high school kids like to be treated like rockstars. It can't hurt.
