scotch and soda is my current favorite liquor drink. makes me feel like a badass.

Do you mix it with 7 up, or cola?

ick.

club soda

Oh, that makes much more sense.
Definitly on Nuts Kicked side here.  Although is it proper to mix anything with scotch?   :dunno:

I think most people drink it on the rocks or with water. Club soda wouldn't be that much different than water. It actually probably wouldn't be that bad, if I liked scotch.

Water sweetens it up more than club soda will.

Basically I went through a scotch phase where I thought it was cool to drink it neat like a hardass and then all of a sudden something changed deep inside of me and I just couldnt handle it. So I had a massive surplus of scotch and I already liked club soda. So I invented the drink scotch and soda (club soda, people) which was so great I decided to google it to see if I could secure the intellectual property or some crap but it turned out it already existed and was a trusted classic for worldly men.

How much bullshit is tonic water? A lot of bullshit in my opinion.  Diet tonic tastes LITERALLY the exact same.

I had a guy tell me that Scotch and milk was a good drink.  I instantly gave him one of these  :dubious: .  Coincidently, this is also the same look I give to people who mix Scotch with anything other than three cubes of ice.  JFC, if you are going to do that just get out the 10 High and Dr. Thunder and have at it.

Feel like I could drink a thousand beers right now, you guys. Team USA style.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

I don't mind scotch with a bit of water in it.  I can't imagine what it'd taste like with milk.

People who like scotch don't really like it they just like the idea of liking it.

It's a bit like coffee.  It takes some getting used to at first, but at this point, I'd much rather drink scotch/whiskey and water than a whiskey mixed with any kind of soda or anything like that.

You're on your own with this one.  I have a really hard time differentiating between quality of scotches (or any brown liquors for that matter).

Which is absolutely great, for me.

A splash of soda or water is actually the preferred way to drink scotch, even the super premium stuff.  Water supposedly opens up the scotch a bit and brings flavors t the table that straight scotch doesnt.  That said, the way you enjoy a liquor is exactly the way you should drink it.  Anyone who says otherwise can GFTS. Also, gin and tonic.

Yeah, no one can taste the difference but some people like the idea of being able to taste the difference.

Any of you guys get into the different regional styles of scotch?  I'm told that there is a large growth in the Islay style, its super smokey.  (Peat Freaks!)  I actually like a decent amount of smokey flavor but not too much.  JW Double Black is pretty damn fantastic.

Sorry about what I said earlier about scotch or whatever. I'm just kind of grumpy and I'm taking it out on goEMAW. You guys don't deserve that. Sorry.

It's cool, _33.  FWIW, I think we pretty much agree.

A good gin and tonic is hard to beat as well.  As for the water in scotch, I will have mine with a splash.  It just usually comes from the ice cubes as they melt.

Saw a booklet at a liquor store the other day about the differences between the different years of macallan scotch.  I probably wouldn't notice the taste, smell, look etc.  But it was a cool little read.
