yeah, the tiny ones in manhattan are to slow down traffic not to help speed it up.

I thought it was really dumb having one at I-70 and McDonald in Lawrence.

There is not a roundabout on I-70. The roundabout you refer to is on an offramp from I-70. I'm not very familiar with Lawrence, but if gameday traffic takes this exit, a roundabout would keep that traffic moving and not back cars up all the way onto the interstate (at least not as far).

True story:  Often times when I had to turn left at those little roundabouts or "traffic circles" in Manhattan I would not go all the way around, but instead I would go the wrong way and just make a left turn.

Biggest prob with roundabouts - people are really dumb and don't have a flying eff's idea what they are supposed to do in one.

That and the whole emergency vehicles having to choose alternate routes around them.

One of my lil bros tore up the bottom of his car (accord? can't remember) going right over one of those things in Lawrence.  As far as I know, my bros do not know KSUBrian.

If/when Scenic Drive/K18 interchange gets done, there will be a 5-way roundabout there.  Not on 18, just on the ramp part.
