Cannot wait for our new turf next year. The field looked like crap on ABC for UCLA game. The "grass" part is wearing down to the point that all the rubber shavings are coming to the surface and covering the already faded painted parts.

So can we go from photo-shopping jerseys we will never have to photo-shopping what our elite new field will look like? TIA

Thanks SD that’s what I was going to do. The field will look exactly the same, just newer. If you expect anything different you're kidding yourself.

Just a lil FYI- If you think the rubber pellets are bad now, wait until the turf is brand new. It takes quite a while for them to be compacted/settle.

They were settled by season start when it was first installed. Also since then they have nice fancy new equipment to help it settle (kinda like rolling piles of sand into a lawn to get out the bumps).

Also, I don't think that the field is painted. I think the coloration comes from the material itself. ie. for the purple areas the blades of fake grass are made of purple material.

May be true, but the word is they are in the process of painting the field right now. Don't ask me why they didn't do it before UCLA

Now that Bill is back that place is like fracking Fort Knox again. At first I thought the best picture I could get would be through the trees but then I just walked in, snapped a quick picture, and was promptly told to leave. Hard to make out in the picture but everything is definitely getting repainted.

You should be able to click on them and get a little bigger version.
