This time in stem cell research.

embarrassing that headline has to be used to prevent a meltdown on gpc, chain emails and letters to the editor across the state.

Was thinking the exact same thing. Oh well, those "non-controversial" stem cells sound pretty versatile anyway....

Well, I don't really care.  But lots of experts are saying that it is adult stem cells that offer the most promise and that embryonic stem cell research is over hyped and will likely never meet the promise that its advocates clam.

If it leads to a viable option to the treatment of cancer, I'd say 2-3.

I've read the same thing, but it's also unfortunate that we'll likely never know where embryonic stem cells could lead because we have to preserve them by throwing unwanted ones in the trash.

Still holding out for nanobots that act like the worms in Fry's digestive tract on Futurama.

good thing that they got the patent now because the NIH just suspended all funding of stem cell research pending a lawsuit.   :users:

Lollable that you had to add "on Futurama" for anyone to know what you're talking about because no one watches that garbage show.

Lollable that you had to add "on Futurama" for tards like me to know what you're talking about because the science in that show scares the Jesus out of me.

More accurate.
