my point was muddled by too many words....
QuoteJosh Selby 6'3 PG Kansas Fr. -- He's a talent, but he's still incredibly wild and makes tons of mistakes when asked to run the team. His shooting was decent but shot selection needs improvement. He makes things difficult on himself taking a lot of contested shots falling away. When he stays under control and uses good ball fakes, he's very difficult to contain. An elite level athlete, he had a number of plays where he showed his great potential, but he's got a ways to go. When Jrue Holiday played on day 2 and guarded Selby, he completely shut him down. Selby is a talent and college should be a great experience for him to mature both socially and as a point guard. Hopefully he's not in a huge rush to turn pro because Bill "My Players Underachieve in the League" Self is my coach. If he gives it some time in college (2-3 years), he'll have a chance to develop into a lottery level point guard. Otherwise, he may end up falling short of his full abilities. He does have the uncertainty of his eligibility looming over him and it was likely on his mind and could have affected his performance some. QuoteTyshawn Taylor 6'3 SG Kansas Jr. -- Taylor had a rough week and doesn't appear to have developed much since arriving at Kansas. He was once hyped by some as a potential first round pick, but doesn't appear to have a true position or the decision making to be an NBA player. "Why does he even bother shooting?" was the line one scout had after an illadvised shot. He's a tremendous athlete who should be able to play overseas as a 2-guard but he still needs to polish his shooting ability and ball protection.http://www.nbadraft.net/2010-adidas-nations-recap

Selby hasn't had his potential whipped out of him yet. Right now he stands to have almost as great of an impact as TROB.Self had two guys taken in the NBA lottery last season. How many players did Frank have drafted? TIA. UNI. ku went 33-3, won the Big 12, was ranked #1 for the majority of the year, and swept K-State and Mizzou.

Only Bill could a dude rated that high and turn him into a potential lottery pick 3 years down the road.

God bless powerespect nation. Oh, and by the way, Aldrich could have left after his sophomore season, but he chose to come back and work towards getting his degree.

If that is true Cole is even more Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) than he appears (which is already very Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!))

I'd say that's pretty f*cking far from Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

His family were poor losers and he has the rest of his life to get a degree. He took away one of the few years of gainful employment he (or probably anyone in his weirdo family) are going to have by doing so. There was absolutely no benefit to him and a crap load of detriment. The opportunity cost was off the charts. Weren't you an Econ major?

Weren't you an Econ major?Sure, Aldrich could have started collecting an NBA paycheck a year earlier, but that's not what life is all about. You only have the opportunity to enjoy the college experience as a KU basketball player once. Also, I don't know if you can really put a monetary value on being the first person in your family to earn a college degree. Thanks to an extra year at KU, Aldrich entered the NBA draft as one of the most polished and NBA-ready players in the entire rookie class.

A) He still would have been the first 10 years later when he went back for his degree if he decided he wanted itB) He would have gone much higher in the draft had he left the year before. NBA ready or not he cost himself not just an entire season of playing time but a lot of annual salary out of the gatesC) Anyone who says "I don't know if you can really put a monetary value on" anything is wrongJust an ignorant decision every way you look at it. was in lawrence yesterday, no sign of selby.. perhaps he decided to forgo his time @ KU?
