Advice on d/l'ing music/tv shows (free and will not f up my comp related)

Also, ISP's don't really care, unless they get a letter from the RIAA/MPAA.

Private torrent sites are much safer than public ones, but still not 100%

Movies, i'd stay away from for now.

this is my concern.

They really dont do anything but make you call to get our net back on and scold you.  Still kinda a pain in the ass tho.  Is demonoid really that private?  They hand out free invites pretty constantly.

I think I just need to get an old person neighbor that needs me to set up their wireless network

super secret torrent sites ftw. however, ratios are much tougher to keep nowadayz. if you can find an invite i would recommend doing it. i, however, do not have any invites at the moment.

actually the googles is not a bad place to look if you know the right search parameters. i utilize google both for music and for movie torrents (sometimes).

utilizing a database like http://www.vcdq.com/index.php in concert with a powerful search engine like the googs is generally a beautiful thing. you have to be able to distinguish the good from the bad though. and that, i don't really know how to explain.

No.  If you click on a torrent of a movie and the files you are downloading are called movieplayer.exe or something, don't download it.

The virus part of safe isn't the safe everyone in this thread was talking about.  Just don't be a dumbass and see what the file is like hemmy said.  Like, all the music should be in a music format (.mp3, etc.) all movies should be in a movie format (.avi, etc.).  I mean, I'm completely Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) in re. to computers and I've torrented brazzillions of things and never had any problems.
