Little PC help, por favor?

So, I'm going to buy a desktop PC and hook it up to my HDTV and use that as the monitor.  I just need to know what all I would need the computer to have, or my TV to have, or any accessories I'd need to buy to get it hooked up correctly.  I tried looking it up on Google and all I could find were message board posts from like 4 years ago talking about using S-video cords.  Just wanted to see if any of you could help me out.  Gracias.


Oh, and if no one helps me, you are all going to get 24oz-very-hot-mango-cause-it-was-sitting-in-my-black-car-all-day-in-an-asphalt-parking-lot-with-no-shade-while-I-was-at-work-iced.

DVI would work too.  You can even convert VGA to HDMI but I wouldn't go that route.

Ya vga to hdmi kinda sux, hdmi is the way to go.  Don't expect muxh though.

The capabilities of the video card that's in your computer is the key to this.
There are many moving parts in this question, TV inputs, expectations, use patterns etc.
Stop in to a retail outlet and spend 15 minutes talking to the salesman and then take your knowledge to newegg.

I have run a Dell netbook @ 1920x1200 and it runs fine.  Probably wouldn't run HD video, but for everything else its good.

Any modern computer will be fine, assuming it has dvi/hdmi out

When it comes to this kind of stuff it doesn't take long to go from cutting edge to stone age. . .

Retail salesmen usually know less than me about stuff I don't know very much about. . .which is very disturbing.

If I want to be able to watch HD videos and stuff do I need to have something special with the PC, or will it just run it in HD if the video is able to be output in HD?
