so trade down or what?

That's what I hope. As much as I'd like them to take Teddy if he falls there I doubt they will. If they don't I think they can get better value dropping down and getting more pics.

That's assuming they get a quality offer though.

Ya, complete crap shoot on whether anyone will even want our pick enough to allow us to trade out.

They will not win a championship with Alex Smith as a QB.  If you really want to try and hit a homerun, draft Bortles round one if he is still there, trade Smith for more draft picks and go after some D and WR. I know it wouldn't be a popular idea, but they are not going to win a championship with what they have right now especially with what Denver is putting on the field at this point.

Bortles will not be there and even if by some miracle he is he's the least ready of the top QBs. If you expect the Chiefs to compete with the Broncos right now drafting Bortles and trading Alex is the last thing you should want.

They aren't going to win the division until Peyton retires, but they do have a decent shot at getting wildcard births every other year.....because every other year their schedule will be easier following a bad season......Like it will be NEXT season, after THIS bad season coming up.

The difference between any schedule within a division is only two games.

The schedule is harder this season because they're playing the NFC West and AFC East, not the NFC East and AFC South.

I know, but how many times has KC been within 2 games +/- of getting/not getting a wildcard.  Seems like a 2 games might absolutely be the difference.

Teams have easier schedules after bad seasons because if they finish 4th in the division, then the next season they play the teams that finished 4th in whatever divisions the AFC West gets matched up with. I assumed that's what Pete was talking about.

What is more likely to happen: Alex Smith wins a Superbowl or a QB drafted tonight?

Obviously one drafted tonight is more likely, but that's the same for every QB in the NFL
