Would not be surprised if we start hearing about the Chiefs in talks with the Lions to trade Albert to Detroit.  They need an OT and I believe they were hoping Lane Johnson would fall to them.
do you  trade  Albert  for Detroit's #36  overall straight up?  I wouldn't hate it but add a conditional pick and I am  in.

Could do #36 this year and a 4th or 5th rounder for next year.

Ideally you'd get a conditional pick as well, but considering the fact that the Chiefs and Dolphins were in talks about trading Albert for the 42nd or the 58th(?) pick, I'd jump on #36 and take it to the bank.

That's basically where they were before the Alex Smith trade (34), so it'd be like you traded Branden Albert, the 34th pick and a 2 or 3 next year for Alex Smith and the 36th pick...which to me makes the trade sound a whole lot better especially considering you've already filled the hole at LT with the first pick in the draft.

FWIW, I've heard very little speculation from the "experts" about the possibility of this trade...it's just a hunch

At this point, the Chiefs would be very lucky to get the #36.

Yeah NFL network did a bangup job last night. I am not a Rich Eisen fan, but all their support cast was great. Marshall Faulk, Deion, Michael Irvin, Mooch, and that white guy

I didn't watch most of it, but I thought it was kind of hilarious that New England traded their pick leading up to the whole Boston Strong rally so they didn't have anybody to give the honorary jersey to.

I usually love Kiper because he knows so much. He is pretty much Doug Gottlieb of NFL scouting. But he was off his game last night. Boom is senile, Gruden loves everybody way too much, and this draft was completely unpredictable.

I enjoy the crap out of Kiper's ESPN radio work on college football saturday's - almost nobody can look good when he is depending on Boomer to run a multi hour live broadcast

Good thing the chiefs got Knile Davis before someone else stole him off the board.  You can't make this stuff up.
