My coworker has had chiefs season tickets for 15 years and was talking about the game today.

I asked him about the weather and he spent 10 minutes explaining his cold weather carhartt setup that he has spent 10 years perfecting.

Apart from living in Florida, is there anything about Miami's 6th ranked rushing offense that would lead us to believe it will not our perform our 19th ranked rushing offense?

Chiefs rushing defense is quite a bit worse than Miami's rushing defense.

it's worse than 6th vs 19th:
the dolphins offense finished #1 in rushing ypp (5.1)
the chiefs defense finished #24 in rushing ypp (4.5)

but to answer your question: raheem mostert is not 100% healthy. HOWEVER, Achane is very good!  :dunno:

Achane did not play in the Germany game, right?

i will say this: encouraging teams to run against you by design is a winning defensive strategy.

2023 playoff teams
rushing ypp rank / passing ypp rank (overall weighted defense rank)

good defenses
baltimore: 25/1 (#1)
cleveland: 19/2 (#2)
kansas city: 24/3 (#3)
san francisco: 14/5 (#6)
dallas: 15/7 (#7)
pittsburgh 21/20 (#8)
la rams 17/14 (#9)
tampa bay 8/25 (#12)
buffalo: 28/6 (#13)

bad defenses:
houston: 2/27 (#22)
miami: 6/13 (#24)
detroit: 3/29 (#25)
green bay: 23/17 (#26)
philadelphia: 20/16 (#28)

tampa bay have the only "good" defense that is better vs the run than the pass

does that matter at all when the football is frozen and your fingers don't work? who's to say

That is correct.  He was out with injury.

There is cause for concern, but I think it’s a good deal more complicated than you’re making it.  For starters, this is the playoffs, baby

I’ll say this, when playing a team that you’re better than, I prefer the weather not be a factor at all.
Agree 100%. Variance usually favors the lesser team

Agreed, and just remembering from some recent games (like last few years) I feel like teams that are from more warmer climates (I think immediately of Tampa @ GB in 2021, or SF @ GB in 2022) tend to out perform their cold weather brethren, regardless if one team is actually better or not. I feel like they know for sure weather is a factor is super prepare/game plan as such. My  :th_twocents: tho

The best explanation for that is its Green Bay and it’s the playoffs

Maybe the cold will numb the Chiefs receivers hands enough that they will start catching!

by Weird Game i mean like a richie james touchdown, a justin houston interception, a blown coverage on a deep shot to justin watson but it turns out he had previously stepped out of bounds, an ill-advised Andy challenge that he somehow wins, a bubble screen to tyreek late in the game that he fumbles but a dolphins lineman picks it up and rumbles for a back breaking first down. Weird Game.

All of those things are pretty standard for a chiefs playoff game
