Probably time after this season to trade away Kelce while he still has some value.

This is a terrible idea.  He needs to (and almost surely will) retire a Chief.

He's too old to get Tyreek level picks, not expensive enough to need to trade, and somehow is still the chiefs best nonQB player. It's not being sentimental it just doesn't make any sense to trade him

I'm saying Chris Jones is infinitely more likely to be traded than Kelce

This would also be terrible.  We have two legit impact players not named Patrick Mahomes.  Kelce and Jones.  It is a silly idea to want to trade either of them at the top of their game.

PFF has Kelce as the #5 rated offensive player, and by far the highest TE
Jones is the #2 rated defensive player.  (Sneed is 20!)

Defense sucks even with Jones playing at a high level.  27 million against cap next year

Yeah a return for Kelce isn't going to look like what we got for Tyreek. His best value is scoring touchdowns for our KC Cheese

The cap next year is going to be a bazillion dollars, $27M is a drop in the bucket.

I think Kelce will stay here until he retires and go down as the GOAT TE. Assuming he stays healthy the next 2-4 years he will win another superbowl catching passes from patty and break even more records.

I don't see Kelce as a Tyreek type person who wants all the Escalades (elite Jamal Charles reference).

Travis Kelce production could drop off significantly and he'd still be a top TE in the league.

Kelce is currently a top WR in the league. He has more yards than AJ Brown and Jaylen Waddle. Cut his production in half and he is still the #7 receiving TE.

I imagine for roster building purposes, the chiefs view him like a WR.

People always complain about the chiefs keeping "so many tight ends" and I think it's because they don't look at him like a tight end on the rosters they build.

Kelce is signed through 25, and his cap hit is only 14.8 next year. why are you guys even talking about this

I don't know that the $27m for Jones is as much of an issue as extending him.  I'd like to see them make a strong effort to keep him as he's a stud but, as with Tyreek, there has to be a point where it makes more sense to trade him.

I think it will come down to if Jones wants to stay in KC or not.  IF he wants to stay, he could take a team friendly deal.  He's 28 so he's got 1 more payday so I imagine it won't come from the Chiefs.  Defense is bad with him having a great season.  THey aren't going to pay him.

kelce is the product of a) #15 and b) big red
put him on any other team in the league and you don’t even know how to spell his name

the bigger picture here is that te position is like rb, don’t overpay for it

this concludes today’s episode of nfl ceo thanks for tuning in

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Lol. Kelce was still doing this with Alex Smith. Don’t discount him.

Kelce is a bargain based on his production.  We're not going to replace that value with whatever cap space and assets we get back.  Unless he wants a big pay increase, there's no reason for him to go anywhere.
