Holy crap. A Chiefs player killed his girlfriend, then drove to Arrowhead and killed himself. They arent saying who it is. Wow.

Javon Belcher.   Killed her at home, then shot himself at the Arrowhead practice facility in front of several coaches and teammates

Wow. If this doesn't force an entire organization turnover, nothing will. Chiefs deserve an nfl probation. But primarily due to its playing the field.

what on earth does this have to do with the organization?

True but what other organization has had this crap occur? And your kidding yourself if you believe no one in the organization was aware of any probs w him beforehand. These thing don't typically occur w/o warning signs.

that's not always true.

while there are likely many factors, this was not a simple suicide.   this was someone killing someone else, then suicide.    that person may have never committed suicide without the initial act.

who knows the motive, and it doesn't really matter.   they apparently left behind a 2.5 month old child.

KCPD reported that he thanked Crennel and Pioli before taking his life. They did not at any point feel threatened.

This is the fault of the chiefs.   Do not try and convince me otherwise.

They said he thanked Crennel and Pioli before killing himself. Thanking them? Clearly mentally disturbed

I would have assumed they were the reason why he'd off himself. I'm just glad it wasn't the best player on the team. Dusty Colquitt

The way the media is handling this is pathetic.  Last night SportsCenter had a moment of silence for him.  They had a moment of silence for someone who murdered the mother of his child 16 hours earlier.  I listened to the game on the way home.  The whole game Mitch kept calling it "the tragedy from yesterday where two members of the Chiefs lost their lives" and "the double death."  It wasn't a "double death."  It was a murder-suicide.  If you didn't know what happened already, you would have thought they died in a car crash.  Way to cover for one of your players committing murder then taking the easy way out.  Apparently if you kill yourself after you kill someone else you, you are just as much a victim at the person you just killed.

I was already hoping they would lose to get the #1 pick and hasten firing Peoli/Crennel.  However, the longer I listened, the more I wanted them to lose because they didn't deserve to win by covering that their player murdered the mother of his child 30 hours earlier.

The Chiefs did the right thing with the moment of silence for domestic violence victims.  No doubt Mitch was probably cringe worthy.

I have to agree, I think the Chiefs organization has actually handled this about as well as it could be handled. The moment of silence for domestic violence victims was one of the best things that could have been done. If the team would have come out and straight up honored Belcher they'd have to deal with the shitstorm that would come out of honoring a murderer. If they would have done nothing it would have come of as insensitive to everyone involved, especially their own players who, regarless of what he did, still lost a teammate and friend.

So as much as I hate to say it because of how many other things they've mumped up on recently, my hat goes off to the Chiefs for handling this the right way.

Bottom line, it sucks.  And it sucks most for that little girl.  I hope the players take care of her.

Glad to hear how they handled it in the stadium.

Either Clark or Pioli are starting a fund for the girl. I can't remember which.
