Yea needs to be a first in there for sure. Seems like a lose lose situation to do this but it’s over so whatever.

But really, 2 more seasons of control before he signs somewhere else, which he's supposedly been open about not re-signing and going to the west coast. So you have this off-season and next to get value back beyond next year. Waiting until next off-season you're risking injury this year to drop value + it's hard to trade a guy that has one year left on his contract?

So you find a trade that is too good to turn down this offseason (it damn sure better be a ton of picks, if that's all they're getting)

I don't know, that's all I can come up with. Will wait to be fully judge it until I see what they get in return.

He's had a long list of crap that added up to this. Attacking coaches, fans, etc. Contract is coming up soon and it's obvious KC didn't want to deal with the drama anymore. His play will be missed.

If he had one year left, the team trading for him would probably want to make sure they could get an extension signed. CBs get paid and the interested list could be small, particularly if everyone thinks it has to be a west coast team. Chiefs also wouldn't want to trade him to the Chargers or Raiders, making the WC list smaller. Of course the obvious is that two years of team control on a rookie contract is very valuable to begin with.

I would certainly rather him be a Chief but I can understand why they might have some pause to sign him to the elite CB (5 year, $50m guaranteed) deal he is going to get.
