I hate PPR leagues.

Explain. Just curious.

They're stupid.

Apparently you don't know what explaining means.

I bet they would not hate them if they did not suck.....

I dunno, I mean if you like it whatever, it's a personal preference.  I don't like it because catches don't really show production.  I think PPR is pointless.

I've only done fantasy for two years now. I didn't set up the league, and it's always been PPR. I just am curious how it would change how i built a team. Frankly, i don't think it would.

just be glad you didn't accidentally get in a league that gave 1 point for every yard of kick and punt returns per player and special teams.  pretty bad when the Cleveland browns defense was the MVP of the league, and your typical starting running back wasn't on anyones rosters.

Yeah, that would get ridiculous. I just don't see how PPR would mess with the receivers. When i look at the top receivers in our league, per points. No one seems out of place.

This is a 1 point per reception, 1 point per 10 yards receiving.

Makes you think about what type of receiver to take. Someone who is a possession receiver and gets 10+ catches doing dirty work over the middle can become just as valuable as a speed receiver who ends up with 2-3 catches for 50+ yards.  Also allows receiving RB's to become more valuable. Makes you think about what type of player you're going to get other than just what big name you can get.

yeah i can see that. PPR leagues seem to even things out with receivers, imo. Being a slot guy doesn't make Wes Welker or Davone Bess less valuable in the real NFL. Receivers like Moss and Desean Jackson are too streaky for my tastes.

I've made some good WR pickups the last several weeks. Now i'm going to have tough decisions the next couple weeks. I got Davone Bess, Steve Johnson, Deon Branch, Kenny Britt now. Along with Reggie Wayne and Desean Jackson(bye) coming off of the concussion. Basically i need to bench one of those guys this week. The projections tell me to bench Bess, but i'm not so sure. Any help? PPR league, btw.

4, since i have no RB options at my W/R position. Im starting Wayne for sure, Jackson is on a bye. so i need three more.

3 WR positions. plus a flex position that can be a RB or WR. And I don't really have a better RB option.

That's tough man. Here's what I would do:

Devone Bess- play him if Jonathan Joseph is out again this week. Cincinnati secondary struggles without him and they could be without Pacman Jones too. He got injured last week toward the end of the game. So keep an eye on the Bengals injury report. Play him for sure if one or both of those two are out.

Steve Johnson- So so option. Most likely to get most of the looks as Evans will probably get the majority of the attention from KC defense.

Deion Branch- Getting the highest number of looks in the Pats pass heavy offense. Somewhat of a tough defensive match up though.  Vikings likely to run the ball a lot this week though, limiting New England's possessions.

Kenny Britt- Pretty much a must start now. He's on fire recently and it hasn't mattered whether its Young or Collins throwing to him.

So as of right now, I would go Wayne, Britt, Branch and Johnson(unless Bengal's injury report reveals something different).

Thanks for the insight TTAF. You obviously know way more than me. My thoughts...

Bess - I will definitely pay attention to the Injury Report. Cinci likes to pass, so i figure it might be a longer game. Bess's # of catches make him more valuable in my PPR league.

Johnson - He's paid off for me since i picked him up two weeks ago.(21 and 29 points) Still pretty nervous about starting him though. I might play him for the simple fact of going against KC's pass D.

Branch - Still not sold on him. Had a great game his first week back with NE, but last week was kinda meh. It will be a tough matchup, but NE doesn't have many other options, so I will most likely stick with him.

Britt - I've been watching him on the waiver wire since about week 3. Finally got a hold of him. I pretty much have to start him after last week. He's been above 10 points in all but the first week of the season. I know SD is a crappy team, but they given up the least passing YPG in the NFL. So I'm still nervous.

Yeah, all good thoughts. It's usually best to go with what your own gut tells you. I usually do terrible when I second guess myself.  I didn't do a very good job paying attention to byes during the draft so my usual: Roddy White, Hakeem Nicks, Jeremy Maclin and Michael Turner are all off.

I'm feeling pretty good about my replacements of: Pierre Garcon, Deion Branch, Dez Bryant and Ryan Torrain though.   Whatever you end up going with, good luck man!
