looks like City will be happy w/ a top 4 finish and qualify for champions league next year.  hopefully that will mean they don't have to overpay for players and bring down the market a little bit worldwide.

predicting now that Chelsea will wrap up the league with 4 games to go.  that is they will have a 13 pt lead w/ 4 to go.  :frown:

la liga is where the action will be this year.  barca and madrid play the weekend after t-giving.  :pbj:

I approve that sentiment! But Essien also was boneheaded as crap on his challenge of Dempsey. We'll take the points obviously but the match left a lot to be desired for me

tot/ars was pretty increds today.

Also, was anyone watching milan/fiorentina on espn3 when iba scored that insane goal?  traps, flips ball up to himself and volleys it with a bicycle kick.  insane.

then he injured his elbow doing his jumping fist pump thing.  then i stopped watching.

EPL is getting interesting

Chelsea is crashing out.  City is climbing.  United is looking like champions (eff).  Arsenal is looking like boys.  And Tottenham is hanging in there.   It's nice having EPL around this time of year. As the other leagues all take Christmas breaks the EPL doubles up and plays an extra game.

Holden (American) scored an unbelievable winner for surprising 6th place Bolton over the weekend (http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2010/12/americans-abroad-weekend-rewind.html#more)

what is wrong with chelsea? from what i gathered from our sunday match, they are having distribution problems when it comes to playing their strikers through

they dominated possession but still couldnt find the net but once

getting old?  haven't seen them play since that run they had that incredible goal differential  record dating back to last year.

city 2-1 loss at home yesterday w/ chance to go top of the table  :chainsaw:

American GK Howard stonewalled the Citizens who held a man advantage for the last 30 minutes.

life in the EPL is good for Stu Holden:

Quote
To the accolades that have been allocated to Owen Coyle this season we may add that he, apparently, has been responsible for the signing of the year. Because analysis of all the match ratings awarded by our readers after each Premier League game this season suggests that the best player so far this term has been Stuart Holden, the midfielder whom Bolton picked up from Houston Dynamo for nothing last January.

i couldnt believe it when i saw the score. i assumed that timmy had a great showing.

do you think that teves leaving will push super mario into a more impactful role?

only Balotelli will be able to push himself into a more impactful role.  he went off hurt yesterday.  but his biggest obstacle is the mind rough ridin' he subjects himself to every time he steps on the pitch.

United is technically in 1st w/ better GD and 2 games in hand.  the Gooners can also jump City w/ 3 pts in their game in hand.  right now I see City in 3rd which is not a bad spot to be in.  they dropped 3 pts at home to Everton last week which would have been nice.  but they won their last 2 outscoring Villa and Newcastle 7-1 in the process.

Balotelli with the hat trick (2 penalties) against Villa.

it's lining up for an exciting 2nd half of the EPL:  the top 5 are only separated by 5 points.

Andy Carroll would be a great get. I'm surprised Newcastle is look at offers. Maybe after the season but they need to ensure they stay up first.
