Soul SuperJam was crazy fun. So many talented musicians playing, and they got Billy Idol and R Kelly to come sing after both were done with their sets. Then out of nowhere Brittney from Alabama Shakes came out to sing. Pretty Lights played until 5:30am, mind blown. I love Portugal the Man so their set was special and the new songs are so good live. Tame Impala sounded perfect. The three headliners were fantastic, McCartney is a God, and I was never big into Jack Johnson but he impressed me big time with his short notice set. Bombino was really tight, his playing style is something to see. Even though I find Macklemore a little too jokey his set was packed and he worked the crowd like a pro.

Oh and Alt-J were THE act of Thursday night

Telluride Bluegrass Festival starts in two days, you guys.

I have an alert in my phone for December to buy tickets for next year.  By the time I think about it, they are always sold out.  You going?

Yeah. Have a few family members who have been going forever. This will be my 3rd. Started trying for tickets as soon as they went on sale and ended up getting a good amount. They went real quick, though. Would suggest having multiple people try for them. We had the whole office working on it and were able to get the number we needed. Not a particularly big fan of bluegrass music in general, but it is by far and away my favorite festival.

Yea, I'm not a big fan either but have heard too many good things not to hit it during my stint in Colorado

I'm too old for the electronic sets until dawn. They just seem kind of boring and I get sleepy and it's really hard to sleep for long after the sun goes up because it's so flippin hot.

And too bad about missing Misty, abe.

If you have 30 spare minutes take a look at how Pretty Lights made his new album. He basically created 28 full length vinyls to sample from using countless different instruments then recorded it using only analog equipment. It's truly going to be a one of a kind record.

I am a Pretty Lights fan and this album is going to be cool, but man that guy seems like an awful person to be around.

yeah. Is he serious? Funny? Absurd? Out of control? Completely in control? Hiding behind bravado? Honest in his bravado? Openly mocking people to their face that have no idea he's mocking them to their face? all of the above?

Excellent message boarder.

Your man John Murry has a Kickstarter going.  The rewards are pretty fantastic.

Yeah, he's pretty ambitious, too. Hope he makes it.

I really enjoyed when he went backstage for more liquor during a fairly short musical interlude.

See, I think he just always goes backstage during that interlude. He did last night, but didn't bring more liquor. (Had plenty onstage already, but he did come back with a beer he had already been sipping). He likes to appear out of control, I think.

No q&a, though. And I wished he had made fun of San Francisco more. He honestly seemed kind of tired.
