He's almost the Dad Boner of the rap game.

I think? Does it matter?

Is there one person on goEMAW that likes PM Dawn more than me?

I pretty much only get music from a handful of music blogs, and they are usually free PR mp3's or out of print songs.

Aquarium drunkard
Passion of the weiss
soulsides
said the gramaphone
buzzbands.la
pitchfork track reviews
Rollo & Grady
songs:illinois
fluxblog

and quite a few others.

There's also stereogum, brooklyn vegan, and gorilla vs. bear. I don't like those for some reason but you can get a lot of songs there, too.

I will buy the occasional album if I really like it, but I never try to get full albums illegally.

The full on assault against temp hosting sites like rapid share and mega upload have caused some setbacks... I also don't have Internet at my place right now so I haven't been procuring music in a while. If I do it's usually through Dropbox from a few of my friends or through some of the sites michigancat mentioned. Would also add factmag.com and soundcloud.com. Both have either free promo stuff or just free albums from the artist themselves. Haven't used it in a while, but http://www.sordomusic.com/db/ used to be pretty decent. Didnt have everything, but sometimes it will find what you need. Also, pre all this mega upload stuff filestube.com was good of you did a smart search. You can also do a blog.google.com search: "artist" "album" download .blogspot or .bandcamp. There are other sites that are exclusive and extremely nice if you can find an invite.

bandcamp is great, too. It's like the new myspace only with a ridiculously simple interface. I use it to find new Bay Area stuff. Very similar to soundcloud, only a little more structured.

And to be honest, services like spotify eliminate the need for downloading music. It's a decent resource if you are wanting to check out an album before "purchasing" it.

The OBz music discussion post:

Quote
The social event of Snyder’s summer time was attending the Saturday night portion of the 2012 Country Stampede, which featured Toby Keith.

Sean (Snyder) organized it and made it really easy getting in and getting out, so it was a lot of fun,” said Snyder, who was accompanied by Sean, plus friend Jim Colbert, and their wives, Sharon, Wanda and Marsha.

On hand to serve as Snyder’s semi-host was Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops, who made the introduction of Keith, who is a Sooner graduate and is one of OU’s biggest fans.

“We spent some time with him, and I thought his performance was excellent,” said Snyder. “He puts on a very professional show. You can tell that a lot of people invested time in putting together what they do. It’s not just standing on a stage and singing. There’s a lot of showmanship.”

Nothing rocks like a concert that's really easy to get in and out of.

Toby Keith ended his concert by saying "If you don't like America, you can eff off" and gave the crowd the double finger.  I think it's terrific LHOFHCBS believes that translates to "showmanship."
