I am listening to the 2012 album Mixed Emotions, by Tanlines. It sounds like M83 + Vampire Weekend + Depeche Mode. Highly recommend.

Coachella dropped their lineup last night. Anyone thinking of going? Anyone planning on another music festival? I did Bonnaroo last summer and I'll be going back this year.

I'm thinking of going because it's close and I'm thinking you could get cheap tickets for the second weekend. But I like Bonnaroo a lot more because they get so many bands from the South that I like that never make it to the West Coast. But Coachella is probably better for my schedule.

whoa, they actually booked Foxygen? :surprised: Their album is super good but from all reports I've heard they are an absolute mess in concert.

The setting of that festival looks amazing and I would love to wander around the forest, but then I remember I can only take EDM in small doses. Which is why I like Bonnaroo, watch some great rock-indie-jam bands during the day and evening, then get wild with some dance music at night.

Electric Forest would definitely have the best weather of any summer festival.

Bonnaroo also gets a lot of nice hip-hop usually.

Coachella always has some solid Brit-rock which few American festivals get, if any. Having to fly to LA or San Diego and drive out to the desert tho  :blindfold: Maybe if I ever move west

I flew to Nashville for Bonnaroo once. It wasn't too bad.

I like a small variety of EDM, the chill, downtempo, jazzy feel type stuff. It is EDM heavy but they have their fair share of jam bands, funk, etc.... It's more for the experience though. I don't think there is a better festival setting in the country. I'll die if Pretty Lights w/ the live band headlines again but I don't think he will.

I'm going to do Coachella next year to scratch that off the bucket list.

Pretty Lights with a live band is the likely headliner for Wakarusa

Picked up a friend in Nashville last year that flew in. I doubt the traffic (even with the Bonnaroo line down the interstate) is as bad as trying to drive from LAX to the desert. But I'm kinda LLAIQ

I had pretty good luck at bonnaroo one year because I went into Manchester for some part minute supplies and only easier about an hour to get in. The next time I stayed on the interstate and I can't imagine a longer line.

I'm pretty sure the highway to coachella is at least three lanes the whole way and they have multiple festivals there, so I would guess it's a little better than bonnaroo.

That's what it sounds like from everything i've read. He headlined Forest last year and usually they don't bring headliners back in b2b years, besides Cheese since it's kind of their fest.

Have you seen PL live before?

Yeah, Bonnaroo last year from 2am-sunrise, but he didn't have a live band which I would love to see. (Derek also played bass on a couple songs for the Hip-hop superjam)

Damn, I've seen videos on youtube of him closing with We Must Go On as the sun came up. I'd have to be wheelchaired away after a set like that.

The live band is a game changer, and a must see if he brings it back to KC next tour. I was lucky enough to see them 5 times this fall.

Lorde @ the Midland March 21st, oh boy  :excited:

what do you guys think of her album?  interesting use of the 808's imo.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.
