Can you imagine the night sweats that it would give Bob Stoops?  Basically ensures that Stoopsy is the next coach of the L.A. Jaguars, or whatever.

Well if it happens, I guess we'll get to see Leach's offense set a new offensive record every year against K-State.   Since no K-State coaching staff has designed, called and recruited a defense to stop Leach's offense in over a decade.

Last 5 times out against Leach they scored:

38
35
59
58
66

Looks like Gundy is on the short list this season.  T Boone wants a team that can win against OU & Texas.  Whoever OSU gets; U can bet that he will be top D1 coach($$$$$$$).   :ohno:

That would be Leach.  If you think about it, Leach is EXACTLY the kind of coach that Pickens would want for the 'Pokes.  Leach's approach to the game is so different, that it's hard to coach against.  But I don't think Leach has been that effective against OU and Texas....anybody know Leach's record against them at Tech?

I want Leach for KSU, but if he takes Gundy's job, I would take Gundy.

CNS-  If Gundy can't beat the big boys, what good would he do for KSU?

Only one coach has ever won at KSU, and that was years before current recruits had hair on their balls.  We won't get a coach half as good as Gundy with our next hire....our overall staff isn't as good as OSU right now.

There are other coaches capable of winning at K-State.   The problem is, how much effort is K-State going put into trying to hire them??

Had the Patterson hiring not been Fitz'd/Weefer'd up . . . we could have had instantanous major inroads into Texas High Schools and probably be in on a number of Solid Texas 3 Star Types that I would take all day, every day, and twice on Sunday.

The  :AA: in the hip pocket of Patterson and staff could have been huge.

9-4 the last two seasons with bowls every year for the last 4.

Why wouldn't you want him?

Plus, his hair is amazing.

T. Boone denies Mike Leach-Oklahoma State rumors
Posted by John Taylor on July 11, 2010 1:54 PM ET Apparently, rumors have been making the rounds that are connecting former Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach with Oklahoma State.

Specifically, there's been speculation that Cowboys owner booster T. Boone Pickens dispatched his private jet earlier this year to pick up Leach and fly him back in order for Pickens' to pick the offensive mastermind's brain regarding OSU's new offensive coordinator, Dana Holgorsen.
According to Pickens, that's simply not the case.

"I haven't talked to Mike Leach in at least three years," Pickens told Tulsa World. "When I do see him, he's always very friendly. But I wouldn't be looking to him for advice."

While on the subject of speculation, there's a growing sentiment that current head coach Mike Gundy could be on the hot seat -- if he's not already -- if 2010 turns into a fair-to-middlin' season.  As Pickens has poured hundreds of millions of dollars into OSU's athletic coffers, his opinion on the current state of football at his university carries as much or more weight than anyone else.

In his conversation with Tulsa World, Pickens did not exactly give Gundy a ringing endorsement as the coach heads into his sixth season in Stillwater with a sub-.500 conference record on his résumé.

"That day I gave the money I said I knew we're not going to win every game," Pickens said. "But I'm tired of leaving the stadium with my head down. And I darn sure had my head down after the (2009) game in Norman and after the Cotton Bowl. I'm 82, so I'm not on the 20-year (rebuilding) plan.

"Gundy has assembled a good staff, our program is stronger and our recruiting is better. But the Big 12 South (division) is a tough place to hang out."

Pickens can say all he wants that he's "not interested in [Leach] as a football coach", but, if the Cowboys stumble early out of the gate, the Leach rumors will most certainly grow in both frequency and volume.

What does Gundy have to do to quash the Leach-to-OSU speculation?  Just win.  And make T. Boone a happy billionaire.

No problem for a 40-something man, right?
