But Davis suffered a severe back injury before the season. Due to that, he would miss the entire year."Man, that was tough," Davis said. There were questions if he would ever play football again, but Davis has, for the most part, recovered, and is closing in on regaining his old form."I'm feeling great," he said in early August. "I'm feeling really good, but they are still limiting me on stuff until they think I'm good to go at full speed. But I feel like I'm there. I can spin and come off the ball real fast."If he's anything close to what he once was, the Wildcats have a good one, Rhoades said."Adam was real, real versatile," said the Blue Dragons' fifth-year head coach. "He was so fast off the edge — he was a dynamic pass rusher. But he was so physically strong and played physical — he was a big time run player too."If he can recover from that back injury, I think Adam Davis is a big time — big time player. I had a number of Division I coaches come through here and say that's the type of guy who plays on Sunday in a 3-4 defense, that's the type of outside linebacker, hybrid-type of guy that people are looking for."Defensive coordinator Chris Cosh said the Wildcats are looking at Davis as a bandit defensive end, meaning he would line up on the weak-side of the offensive formation.http://themercury.com/k-statesports/article.aspx?articleId=eef5cd84d5a643eb9ecb87da2fdfc97f
Are you still limited in any areas?I really can’t pivot. If I pivot all my body weight, I can’t go to my left side because my back isn’t strong enough yet. But I can spin and come on to the ball real fast.If the season started today, would you play?Yeah, I would play. They have a lot of trust in me to be able to come out and play. They know my back injury is serious and stuff, but they listen to what I say. They base it off how I feel and what I tell them. I’m not going to lie to them. If I don’t feel good, I’m going to tell them. But it’s been feeling good so far.Do you think you can start at defensive end this season?I feel like I can. It’s a whole lot of work, because there’s a whole lot I need to learn, but I feel like I can. Since I’ve been out last season I feel like I’ve been catching on pretty fast and at a good pace.
Seriously why bump this topic? lol
