At one point, Topeka had the 2nd-highest crime rate per capita of any city in the United States.

You must have missed my (more recent) fact.

Topeka is the 2nd safest capital city in the county.

It helps when you change your reporting model.

true, although Topeka changed theirs to match the reporting of others and saw the improvement (i.e. not reporting property crimes)

My car stereo was stolen in Topeka.  Just another unrecorded statistic, apparently.

That means not sending it to the KBI, who does the actual reporting to the Feds. Cheaters.

Topeka merely changed its reporting to match that of most other cities.   :dunno:

The way it works is that you're supposed to send all of the Offense reports to the KBI. It sounds like they stopped sending the ones they didn't want to go against their stats.

My buddy says that the golf course up by the casinos is very nice.  He actually said it's probably the nicest public course in Kansas.  Can anyone confirm/deny?

Topeka does smell a bit like feet, so I totally believe that $!#*'s story.  Also, 73% of the restaurants in Topeka are currently out closed to business.

Best Burger in town at a sit down restaurant is Annies, as Saul points out.  Best fast food burger is currently the Pad Burger, but used to be the Buddy Burger.

Fact:  The Pad (elite North Topeka fast food burger joint) is owned by the same family that owned Buddy's  (previously located on 10th street across from the hospitals), but after Buddy's was taken over by their son (a would-be heavy weight boxing contender, Dangerous Damon Reed), it folded.

Buddy's served RC Cola!

Now they are a fast food Mexican restaurant named "Andale!" - I haven't tried it yet.

Pad is still around in N. Topeka.  They had a location at 21st and Washburn for awhile but folded.
Never did try it, but I guess it sucked.

It is now "Kim's Vietnamese" - super elite/good. Fresh spring rolls (with that clear rice paper), Pho and Bubble tea :D

Where did you get that overnight bag?
