Quote
Last year's flavor, frosted strawberry, is out of the running for consumption. Now in competition are frosted hot fudge sundae, frosted wild berry and a special mystery flavor.

The mystery flavor will be a previously discontinued edition of the snack, with potential options including peanut butter, vanilla milkshake, blue raspberry, cinnamon roll, red velvet cupcake, chocolate chip cookie dough and grape.

According to a release, the flavor to be enjoyed by the winning team will be chosen by the winner of the game's MVP award.

The 2024 edition of the Pop-Tarts Bowl will be played Dec. 28 at 3:30 p.m. ET between representatives of the ACC and Big 12 conferences.

If this team wants the opportunity to feast on Kellogg’s Pop Tarts®? then they better quit screwing around. What I’m saying is they need to get their keisters in gear, basically.

The opportunity to murder a pastry mascot in back to back seasons should not be taken lightly.

Nothing of import left to play for.

Couldn’t avoid tripping over our own shoelaces when it mattered most.

Sorry but there are like 5programs who should take a playoffs or bust attitude and we aren't one of them. The worst part about K-State fan culture is that our bluster and hubris isn't matched by our investment.

I think K-State fans are pretty vested.

I was last Saturday's game, and the stadium was 99.5% full (and I think total tickets sold exceeded capacity) and the crowd was very much into in the 1st half and the team gave them nothing.

As far as financial - overall I think K-State fans from BMD's to the grass roots do a pretty fair job.  Annual donations have been running about $28m a year.

NIL, not sure, a lot for Tang, I don't know about football.

A strong suite of facilities, the K-State Football player has it pretty good in the MHK.

We spend less on basketball than multiple big east teams. It's a lot easier to pump and dump 5 million into a random basketball season than to have sustainable investment into the entire infrastructure of athletics.

I wasn't impressed by the crowd last week, we were 7-2 and hadn't played at home in three weeks. I was surprised at how many people didn't leave early.

The point of all of that wasn't really to crap on the fans, but to illustrate that we aren't anywhere close to having the infrastructure and funds where we should be expecting to be a playoffs or nothing matters program. We are in the athletic middle class. I'm not going to tell anybody what to do, but, for me, if we're averaging 8 wins a season and in the mix for a conference championship, they we're golden.

I especially like that we have a pretty balanced and competitive football conference now. Hope it stays stable because it will be fun even if playoffs aren't in the cards!

Yeah, I like the parity of the teams in our conference outside of these god awful late kickoffs.

These are fair points in the grand scheme of things, but I think the issue is THIS YEAR fans were especially optimistic about taking a step forward under Avery when we’d already been floating near the top of the conference.

On the fan attendance point, I will say I sell most of my season tickets every year since I live in TX and this year has probably been the hardest to sell them of the last 5 or so years.

Fans both underrated Howard and overrated Avery. (And I still think Avery might be the best overall QB we've ever had - at the very least he's the most talented).

Fair points, but with that said, it is proven again and again by numerous examples across P4 football/athletics. That spending a crap ton of money doesn't get you anywhere besides having more pissed off fans and programs throwing even more money away to get absolutely no where.

No one should be surprised that say a UConn spends more on basketball than K-State. I suspect it isn't real hard to fund raise for UConn basketball right now, and probably not real hard to sell sponsorships for UConn basketball.  Gun-Fish-Barrel

None of that changes the fact that K-State fields the fewest number of sports to be full time D1 and spends $100 million or more on those sports.

He absolutely was. And I also can agree Avery is a bit overrated/our offensive scheme is not helping him. I think people expected him to be amazing right away. I think next year will be a break out year.

MIR just to clarify, my frustration isn’t that I think we are somehow entitled to a playoffs or bust mentality…I’m frustrated with the product we’ve seen on the field the last month. Only because The Football Gods would not allow it were we able to survive ku. And ever since we have objectively sputtered out. 3rd and 1, we have 2 running plays and end up turning it over on downs. We’ve scored like 3 total touchdowns the last 2 games? Our defense’s biggest weakness appears to be…checks notes…a pass over the middle.

Now if you and mich want to rub your dicks together over that, have at it brother. some space is available in the frottage cottage and y’all should be roomies.

For the rest of the fanbase, it’s perfectly reasonable that this entire month of November has been a total boner killer and it’s not an indictment of unreasonably lofty expectations good grief
