Avery should have audibled out of the DJamer run and dared Riley to do something about it.

Come on guys.  ASU played very conservative in the second half after they turned it over.  There's no doubt they could have scored another TD if they needed to.

Our defense is NOT good.

Happy NOWINber to those who celebrate
Oh man when was the last time that happened?
I bet it probably happened a time or two between 04-08. Rough 5 year stretch

The coaching staff allowing a minute + to melt off the clock by substituting on the second to last drive was also a brilliant strategy.

Thank God we're playing in the shitty ass big 12 otherwise we'd have a losing record this year.

I remember my concern with the Riley hire and that was even before Tech fans warned us. I was hoping for some young, imaginative talent to make the most of AJ, but should have known CK wouldn't be open to innovation.

Yep, that was sad hurry up offense on display, and Avery going down in bounds short of the first down also cost another ~ 30 seconds

I can forgive AJ as a first-year starter, but the OC effing up his own hurry up is just offensive.

Was reminded me of this day.  I have similar feelings about Kleiman and his future here.

If Riley gets demoted, can he still coach the O line or is it better to start over?

No. The oline is particularly bad.

The defense came to play (despite its deficiencies - particularly in the secondary).

The problem with this team is on the offensive side of the ball (and the inability to execute a snap from the long snapper).

Whether that's on Riley, Klieman, the other coaches - whatever. If this team plays even competently on the offensive side of the ball, we win this game (and the game against Houston too).
Houston didn't throw an incomplete pass all game.  The defense is very bad.

Our offense - and AJs poor INTs - are what put the defense in bad positions.

Is our defense a top 10 unit? Nope.

But, the problems with effort, scheme, playcalling, etc. are largely more on the offense vs. the defense.

IMO Riley has a better track record than Wells but I wouldn't be sad if both left

Charlie Dickey may be looking for a job soon.  Hell, bring Joe Bob as well. Can’t be any worse.

We leave receivers wide open on every single pass play.  Every single one.  Our defense is only effective when the other team has a shitty QB.

Sophomore slump. This is a building year, I finally excepted it tonight. I really didn't want to, but the proof is on film.  Name a KSU quarterback that didn't have growing pains.
He  is also nursing an injury, he can't juke like be could before CU. The straight up the gut run was the only time we saw his speed flash. I think the last interception was also tied to this injury, if you watch his torso as he tries to throw on the run.

I've acknowledgeed this as well. He's ahead of Roberson as a sophomore and way far ahead of Howard. Bishop and Beasley were good as first-year starters, but they were juniors.
