Ugly game. Outrebounded, lousy from the FT line and 19 turnovers.

Our fans are going to turn on Coleman this year. There is no slack cut for him in the stands.

I think NIL is going to rub a lot of KStaters the wrong way in certain cases, and paying a kid $2m and not getting Beas is probably going to be one of them. If this kid puts two bad games together in conf play, that will probably be all it will take.  The fan vibes are off towards him.

This is a little harsh. He wasn't on his game yesterday, but that can be said for the entire team. He had too many turnovers and only 2 rebounds but N'G and M Jones led us with 3. Coleman had five assists. He put up just 7 shots in 31 minutes, hit 2 or 3 threes. He's a supper glue guy. He has personality. Students are going to love him.

I don’t mean it to be harsh. I like him and agree with what you said.

What I mean is the general feel of the crowd. Lots of shitty comments, jeers, and groans when he does pretty much anything and doesn’t succeed (misses a shot, FT, pass, etc).

I agree, but it has nothing to do with nil, I think it's his general look on the court. He has always seemed to be a punkish, nonchalant doofus.

Perhaps that is it.  I have heard several "$2M dollar man" comments as they complain about not getting more for the money.  I think KSU has a large collection of football fans that like to see winning in other forms even if they don't understand it as much as football.  For instance, the amount of DNG hate in the stands is wild.  I think the NIL knowledge will just shorten temper fuses with those fans.  Especially large deals.  I think a lot of our fans are going to want immediate returns on investment.

It will be interesting to see this one playout, regardless of what is causing it.

The days of "give them a break, they are just student athletes trying their hardest and playing for ole KSU" is gone in the NIL era. Everyone knows that the coaches and players are committed to KSU for one year max (less for players who decide they are portaling out of the program halfway thru the season).

A lot of those $2 million man comments are from the hyper online component of the fan base who are more likely to be mad about anything.

The days of "give them a break they're just student athletes" never existed. I sat on the front row of the student section back in my day and people said foul crap to players like Shawn Rhodes, Manny Dies and Pero V. When Pero and Manny got into it with Todd Stewart from the Collegian, a lot of dude bros weren't happy with the players. There always have been and always be hateration, holleration, in the dancerie when it comes to students and student athletes. I've always been amazed at students who pay money to go to games and crap on their fellow students, it's weird crap.
