Our OL isn't inexperienced. They just suck.
Were they getting a ton of snaps last year?

Yea we returned 3 starters and and brought in a 5th year transfer that half the SEC wanted to play LT.
Well they aren't good enough to convince me this is as good as it will get for us

I think Chingon meant Dylan and Avery and DJamer.

This, i truly believe this is the least disciplined OL in 15 years. The amount of penalties on a center tonight is unacceptable and totally avoidable

Easiest way to avoid it is not playing a night game in a different timezone in front of the loudest crowd probably any of those guys has seen (aside from the KSU Cats on defense of course).

They played on the road @ UT last year @ OSU last year. We don't play in the Mountain West.

Center sets the tempo for the lineup, Avery gets the turbo call from Matt right after the past play is completed. Make sure your boys are set. It shows immaturity and lack of discipline.

Think of the walk in tudder we had and it got called back early. Just a lot of things that could have been avoided. I like to think the guys can bounce back. This game will haunt some players for a while.

Yeah and those were close bouts. We got the doors absolutely blown off of us. We did so much more for BYU than we did ourselves this week. Looking ahead, eliminating those penalties and having guys be leaders and look after each-other. Hold eachother accountable, Riley is more concerned with calling shitty plays than coaching the O-Line and it shows.

Too freaking many.  AJ threw arrows and they dropped them like flies on a lamp pole. I hope they spend some time on catching technique until their hands are ready to fall off.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

I count 4 alone in the first half off the top of my head.

My point was it's silly to think we rolled into some extreme environment on the road the likes of which our players have never seen. That's laughable.

As a UT season ticketholder for 3 years (including a national title run), I can affirmatively say the crowd environment in the DKR is pretty pud. OSU is probably much closer and that was a massive upset at the time (in which Avery did not start).

Big takeaway is a ball control offense and bend but don't break defense can't give up 2 non offensive TD's and 2 more turnovers deep in their own territory. Kinda renders everything else moot

the end of the first half was recoverable as bad as it was. We come out and score a TD, we are down 4. But then we let them score a punt return for a TD.

That was enough for me.

Being there last night, it's a cool setting/environment, but the crowd noise/participation was absolutely pedestrian pre-game and during the game until the ghost of Joseph Smith cursed us at the end of the first half.

After that, it was solid, but I'd argue Okie State and Iowa State are louder. A motivated Boulder might be too.

Losing could actually help us host. If we’d have went undefeated, we’d likely get a bye into the semis.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Apologies for the paywall - Avery Johnson described playing at Provo as being "weird", but in a good way.
