I'm much more worried about the defense. Terrible coverage breakdowns combined with an inability to get to the QB rushing 6.

I know the constant heavy blitzing and leaving receivers wide open caused a big turnover but I'm used to the warm fuzzy bending and not breaking style
I think there’s a lot of good “tape” that our coaches can use to improve this week.

a question for the dudes who might know, outside of the players who ere out of position, did they at least show good instincts?

That depends; would you consider leaving players wide open to catch 30+ yard bombs good or bad instincts?
still melting down on a tuesday? damn, son is down bad.

Eh, not so much a meltdown as I am nervous for AZ.

Arizona has looked worse than we have.

Yeah, like I am less nervous for this game than I was vs Tulane. Could we lose? Absolutely but I think Zona is playing pretty poorly overall. They allowed 39 points vs NM, who lost to arguably the best team in the Big Sky Montana State. Then they turned around and and only scored 22 vs Northern Arizona, who is a middling team in the Big Sky, who Montana State beat by 24 last year. I feel like Zona is due to be exposed a bit.

Klieman always breaks one off in someone's ass at home, I think UA will be the unlucky recipient this year.

since arizona is our new rival, I hope he doesn’t break it off.  just keep it in there.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Only allowing 7 points and two turnovers and a touchdown for the defense in the second half.  Joe "halftime adjustment" Klanderman

Every damn game. The only doubt is how big of a hole will the offense dig and will they eventually get their heads out of their asses after the always inevitable 3 and out to open the second half.

Matrix Synthetic vs FieldTurf

I don’t think Matrix uses the rubber infill like FieldTurf

Plus I’ve always thought our grounds people did a very not so good job maintaining and grooming the fields.  Yes-artificial grass fields need grooming. It’s just different than natural grass.

Listening to Austin Romaine right now and he said their turf was very rough and slick.

I wonder if flat route passes that go nowhere will be a thing all season.

I think a healthy amount of these are from Avery not being comfortable with his progressions right now. Apparently, even on his touchdown pass to DJamer on 4th down, Jayce was open the entire time he was locked on DJamer's designed flare, but Avery never looked

I'm not worried about the secondary, CK is a DB savant.  Could be as simple as swapping out Jordan Riley for another Safety and we look much improved.

People are rightfully pissed at Riley for not getting that interception in the end zone, but he wasn't the player in the secondary who was benched, Garber was. I think it's nearly impossible for fans to know if the safeties or corners screw up coverage, without knowing the calls.

He definitely tends to lock in on someone. Understandable for his experience level, but something he'll have to improve on.

It's what, Avery's second competitive game that he needed to pass in? He's got so much talent that he'll be fine.

I believe Avery took the first snap against TCU last year and immediately came out

Forgot about that, must have been the home game following his 5 TD performance against TTU. Was really weird.

Both on field for first snap, Will was QB, jet sweep with Avery.

Still a start!

Not a start at QB.

That wasn't qualified in meow meow's post.

But it was certainly inferred.

I'm sticking with 3-0.
