And I have a hard time seeing the mental gymnastics the committee can come up with dropping a 1 loss regular season team that lost the CCG by a 56 yard FG as time expired to a top 20 team below a 3 loss team that got blown out by a .500 team and another loss to a .500 team that was sitting on the couch during championship week.

Made me look.   Gary Gibbs went six years post Switzer with no losing seasons, although he was 6-6 in his last year in 94.  His sin was losing to the Cats in 93-94. 

Howard Schnellenberger came in 95, finished 5-5-1, and extended the Cats win streak to three.

Blake had 3 losing seasons going 0-2 vs Cats giving KState 5 straight wins before the series took a 2 year break  in 98-99 due to the old Big 12 schedule rotation.
