Still another week for kids to enter name in portal.  Lots of names still not known.
Are we expecting anyone else from the current Cat roster to leave? Does this depend on what dudes are found in the portal?

I guess Tomlin could receive a first round expectation from NBA scouts and chuck us the deuces. I’m more focused on the inbound portal players that haven’t announced from other teams yet.

Better source is Tang and staff cooled on Abmas when they became aware Perry was a Cat for the asking. The bidding war for Abmas was between Texas and WSU, when his former coach made a push to sign him Ultimately, Abmas chose Texas for less money. The only reason Perry was late in announcing was he wantedd to be part of a North Texas NIT celebration before making his departure official.
Meanwhile, Oscar is still a losery dork with no coach job on the horizon in total disbelief of Tang's ability to recruit to Manhattan.

It's so thrilling to be excited about K-State hoops in May and witnessing a coach building on success. One can just hear the phones ringing and internet buzzing with season-ticket requests upon word that yet another dude will be wearing purple. To think, all it took was a visionary coach with drive, sincerity and -- as Pullen said -- a concept and faith in building a team identity. With that, true Wildcat fns who rooted for the Cats through a decade of what all must admit was uninspired, tepid and somolant leadership rejoiced in the vibrant charisma and instant success of the new regime.

The days of constant whining and excuse making now seem as remote as the Dark Ages, which they were for anyone longing for entertaining and imaginative hoops in Manhattan. The losery dire woe-is-me drumbeat has been so thankfully replaced by a confident staff willing to make bold promises of success and conceding the advantage to no one. I'm irreligious as a stone, but for this new and fresh atmosphere I shout "Praise be."

Abmas just said on Field of 68, at 39 min in, that one of the reasons he chose Texas was because him and his parents looked at "factors after basketball". Whatever that means I guess.

Self with a center that's more than a 5 pt, 9 reb type is very scary.

It was only about money. His family wanted him at K-State until the NIL numbers came into play w/ UT and at the same time Cats U knew we had Perry, so we backed off. Abmas sucked crap when he actually had to play against decent competition this year.

Also, cheers to @deputy dawg for dropping some Kansas D2 JUCO knowledge on your heads.

Jalen Wilson came back, why can't Keyontae

Keyontae could potentially make more at KSU than as a G-leaguer next year.

Jalen Wilson has always been an interesting player.

He played in 100+ KU games and get this, had 2 dunks... TOTAL. For a 6'8 wing, he has a below the rim game but has NBA skills, it will be interesting to see how he transitions and how he's guarded. Has he ever been a projected 1st rounder through the years?

As for Keyontae, I had a whole bit typed out on him... but I'll just say I want him to do what makes him genuinely happy and I'll be good with it, even more so if either decision leads to him getting into a 1st round spot with the $3.5m-ish minimum guarantee.

Julian Phillips could still enter the portal too as an option at wing.  Lots of options.

It's of absolutely no conseunce that you don't remember how effective sharpshooing PGs Jared Butler and Davion Mitchell were in Baylor's national championship run, but true K-State fans can find assurance that Tang surely does.

Desi just posted he's entering the NBA draft. I thought he had already used all the eligibility possible, including COVID, and this was his final year no matter what. So we could potentially get Keyontae AND Desi back?!?!

Nope, he's done. He played 3 full seasons at Arkansas, one at Arkansas State, one at K-State.
