How much could he improve his draft stock if he stayed another year and showed progress?

None, maybe negative amounts.  He’s like 30 years old and the things counting against him he can’t do anything about.

I think it's very close to none. If he came back and had a good year her can absolutely improve his stock. His age, currently 22, isn't as much of a favor because he doesn't have those years of wear and tear. What things do you think he can't do anything about? He absolutely has an NBA body, he's not going to get bodied by any small forward in the league not named LeBron James.

Not saying KJ can't make it. I think he can. But I don't think he's a typical NBA type these days. Tomlin is way more typical.

He’s not quick enough or has good enough handles  to be a small forward and he’s a couple inches too short to be a true PF.  He turns 23 before the draft and would be older than the average player on last years youngest NBA squad. I think he’s gotta go now, but it does intrigue me he hasn’t officially entered yet. I think he would get a waiver if it’s what he wants.

i believe KJ is more valuable to KSU than any other league in the USA and would hope we could put a NIL deal together that makes that so.  However he is probably at least a mid six figure guy overseas and i don't know if we have that kind of bag.

I haven’t been able to find a mock that doesn’t have him going in the second round of the draft.

Forgive me here - I know basketballs are round and usually orange and that’s about the extent of what I know about bouncy-hoops but isn’t the 2nd round analagous to 6th/7th round in football?

Kinda - only first round picks are guaranteed contracts.  Occasionally there are 2nd rounders that will get a   2 year guarantee but the majority of 2nd rounders are headed for a 2 way deal worth 200k at best

I think Keyontae would make the NBA roster for most teams. He’s physically pretty ready. I could see him as a first rounder for a playoff team with solid second unit minutes.

NBC did a study on 6 years of 2nd round picks from 2012-2018 and found that 91 of 132 players got a guaranteed contract of at least one year before they left the NBA. League minimum for a rookie is 900k. Two way contract worked out pretty well for Claws. Westicles made some good money from a 2nd round pick too.

Kind of interesting that he hasn’t entered his name yet

Am I reading too much into this tweet or is the word "together" doing some real heavy lifting here?

I think that wording is because Nowell has an upcoming solo signing event in KC . . .   :dunno:

I think he could improve his footwork/defense and ability to deal with doubles with another year. I think he could improve because he took so much time off. But he should probably go, those things can probably improve more on a 2-way contract.

Are we 1000% sure Keyontae isn't coming back....? Heard nothing from anyone about him one way or another.
Still not sure, I guess

Garth is being extremely cringey on Twitter. It’s hard to watch.
He’s extraordinarily old, it’s just how old people are

I irl have a picture of he and I doing a side bro hug at a KSU hoops game that like 15 people on this board attended with me. but that's certainly not going to stop me from whipping his ass at statuetown.

And this guy is good.

C USA player of the year, shot 41% from three, and averaged 17 a game, and led North Texas to an NIT championship.
